We have been going through Peking house the last six months getting general chicken, beef fried rice, general dinner for two. We always order fried rice with no onion. The food is adequate enough and the location convenient enough that when we crave "Chinese," this is a quick go to, even if the drive thru employee has sometimes been pretty rude, shutting the window while we were midsentence or trying to ask a question, enough so that at times the owner has taken over and finished up the interaction. However this last time we ordered the dinner for two, 11/4/18, we were told that if we didn't want onion in the rice, they would have to give us steamed rice. Ok. This didn't make sense so I called and asked if they changed how they do their fried rice and they said no, they've always put onions in their fried rice. My problem with this is that we have either been lied to or ignored by staff when requesting no onions every time we've ordered prior to this visit, or this final- FINAL- visit we were lied to about them being unable to make a batch without onion. Lying to someone about food is a huge deal- you don't know if someone makes a special request due to preference or allergy, and in food service it is always safest to assume allergy. We will not be returning to Peking House because I'm not going to eat anywhere I can't trust the employees. It is disturbing to me that the employee who answered the phone didn't seem to...

We ordered the Cashew Chicken combo, with egg roll & wontons. The chicken had a hair in it. When I told them, they said well we will make another one. No apologies, nothing. We seriously should have left then. The wontons contained some foreign substances we could not indentify. Pale pink rubber consistency. The order was 4-5 pieces of chicken, less then a child's portion at most places. We ordered Chicken Soft Noodle, and paid for extra vegetables, requested it be spicy. There was no spice. The chicken was dried out. Very few vegetables - and they all were white? The sauce was very watery, basically no flavor at all. This was supposed to have been a " treat" special occasion dinner. The food was horrible, absolutely horrible. Poor service. We finally decided to speak with the manager, he was a young kid, very disconcerting. Offered nothing. We asked to speak to his mananger- was told not possible. NEVER, again. Entire experience was disgusting! No cars in parking lot, wasn't sure they were open, should have been our first clue. 25.00 waisted! Worse then that, the heaving and feeling the...

(2022) two stars .wow this place has gone down hill. First they would not do a split order. If I'm a paying costumer the let me pay how I need to. Next time I'll some where they don't tell me no because you are lazy. Second, the food was very basic. Cashew chicken tasted like the stuff you can buy in the story. Chicken lo mein was very sweet tasting, too sweet. Egg rolls cold.

(2019) Four stars. This is one of the better places in Springfield to get cashew chicken. However there are other places here in Springfield that are better but Peking House has been around for a very long time and is always very friendly and very clean. It is the best place to eat on the East Side of Springfield Kama if you are east of Glenstone. Food is always delicious and does not leave me wishing that I hadn't ate there like some Chinese places do. Price is fair for what you were getting you should have a great time if...

The chocolate chip wonton was a stellar idea and they're delicious! The egg roll was a top contender in town. But the chicken, sauces, and quality of the overall experience have left my family deciding we wouldn't order more than the chocolate chip wontons from this restaurant moving forward. The food was hot. There was nothing wrong with it, outside of being so sloppily thrown in the to go box. But the meal itself was a let down, I could have paid less and gotten better sweet and sour chicken from other drive thru Chinese spots on sunshine. The "crab" Rangoon were also a let down, a super savory cream cheese without even the hint of imitation crab in them. It was just very mediocre unfortunately

For $14 I got this little lunch portion of beef and broccoli. I am pissed. This is dinner time and this serving is for a child. To top it off it's nasty. The rice is steamed not fried with no soy sauce. I went back the next day to get a replacement. The young lady was so sweet but then came an older lady with a million questions. I didn't like how she handled it but she still gave me another dish and made sure she said "only this time".... Don't worry cause I'll never come back. The chicken green bean was so bland I had to go home and add sauce. It's just not for me. I wish I could get my money back.

I've come to this restaurant since I was in high school ... Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth.... It's always been a great, affordable place to eat. I stopped in on my way back to Saint Louis a couple weeks ago, it's still one of the best places in Springfield, MO for cashew chicken. As a Glendale Alumnus... Go Falcons!!
