We were recommended by some coworkers to try this place out for Seafood. So, we made it there and discovered that our coworkers were definitely correct on this one. We both ordered the daily special which was Whitefish Bites with two sides. We were able to order it grilled as opposed to fried, and let me say….. It was Awesome. Our server (so sorry, I forgot her name) was attentive, patient and sweet as could be. We will definitely be going back to try other dishes.

This was our first time coming to Anchor's Away Cafe and it didn't disappoint. The fried oysters were large and cooked perfectly. We will definitely go back again and again.

Service was good, friendly helpful wait staff. They were able to handle special orders without much trouble. Food was average, and so were the prices

I’ve seen this place for a few years when staying nearby in Little Switzerland, NC. I was curious how good the seafood would be in a mountain town so far from the coast. It’s really very good. Service is prompt and caring. The atmosphere is clean, very casual…some small gestures at the nautical theme. I had a fried combo with jumbo shrimp, oysters, hush-puppies, slaw, baked potato. The seafood was really fresh, cooked perfectly to order. The servings are generous. Slaw needed a little something in there for character: relish, poppy seeds, finely diced colored peppers, just a little something something. Also the baked potato, perfectly cooked but let down by artificial butter. Come on. Anyway, it’s about the seafood and they slam-dunked that. I’ll gladly...

we came in on a sunday and was needing a table of 7. they were going to put us in a table that was ment for 5 which is fine because we have kids. well there was an elderly family that came in with a lady in a wheel chair that took that table. which is fine. I understand it. there was 2 other tables that needed to be cleaned off and we asked if we could push them together. another couple came in behind us and one of the waitresses yelled to them that they would push the tables together for them and that we would have to keep waiting. so the hostess told us to go outside and wait and tried to hand us a beeper. we have 3 kids and the smallest being only 15 months old. we arent waiting out in the cold with the wind blowing. so we wont be back...

Came in during the church rush expecting everything to be hot and well done, but nope. Potato was raw and needed to have went at least another 30 minutes and tarter sauce was just mayonnaise and nothing else. They have raised the prices yet AGAIN. It's just ridiculous when you can go to Asheville one of the most expensive areas around and pay less for more food. The portions are tiny at anchors away. $15 for ONE piece of fish and a half a tiny handful of shrimp and $3 for a drink. If you are going to be stupid and pay the prices here.. go to harbor inn where the outlets are in Asheville. It's CHEAPER and no joke 3x the amount of food. Like they give you enough for 2 full meals and the foods just...
