Where, oh where do I begin?! Upon walking up to the entrance, you see the charming exposed brick through the large windows. Once you walk in, you are greeted with a lovely bar and a few smaller tables along the wall. There is an additional space in the back for more seating (we didnt really venture into the back room, but I assume it has the same delightful ambiance). We had decided in this restaurant after looking up the menu online and finding Shepherds Pie. To our misfortune, Shepherds Pie was no longer on the menu, but we decided on an order of Perogi's, some cheesy bacon fries, and mac and cheese with BBQ pulled pork. Now, I do not claim to be a foodie in any true manner, and my palate is no where near sophisticated enough to detect the nuances of various recipes or cooking methods, BUT, let me just say- the Perogi's were crisp around the edges, perfectly buttered with onions so superbly sautéed! I've ate quite a few Perogi in my life, from restaurants all around this Valley and in Pittsburgh that boast THEY have the best, and those dont hold a candle to what was presented to me at Audrey's! The bacon cheese fries, while a seemingly unrefined dish, were also something of treat that leaves you wanting more in the most satisfying way! The bacon was a splendid blend of crispness and yet still melted in my mouth. The potatos definitely gave a fresh cut taste. And last, but certainly not least in our order, the BBQ Pulled pork mac and cheese! If I were to describe the fireworks that went off in my mouth upon the first bite as I'd like too, this review would get flagged because it would borderline obscene descriptions of pleasure!! The pulled pork itself was a dreamy tenderness cooked to utter perfection. I confirmed with the wait staff, the BBQ sauce is made in house and not bought. To say I was thrilled with my choices for the evening, is far too vast an understatement!!! This will definitely become a restaurant we return to.
Also, to the staff/management, if you haven't considered catering services, please , I beg you,...
Read moreIf you find yourself in St Clairsville, OH, skip all the chain restaurants and venture into the historic part of town to Audrey's Avenue Kitchen & Bar. It's really charming with a beautiful bar. We were seated very quickly by the hostess Alyssa who was also our waitress and the bartender. She was working several tables, but she was super attentive and friendly. We shared the Mediterranean Salad and the Maui Pork BBQ Sliders. The Salad was beautiful and the Garlic Citrus dressing was amazing. The BBQ sliders were awesome with lots of burnt ends in the pulled pork. The sauce was delicious. The homemade fries were fantastic. We tried the homemade garlic aioli dipping sauce with the fries and it was out of this world. We finished our dinner with a fabulous Kiwi Lime Martini. If you are looking for a fun casual place with a wide variety of salads, sliders, baked potatoes, loaded fries, and a tasty drink menu; please stop into Audrey's Avenue Kitchen & Bar. You will not be...
