After traveling from Rochester through the first winter storm of the season, I drove downtown where the shimmering lights zigzagged across the street and found The White Horse. The name drew my curiosity and although I never did find a cohesive theme that made any sense, this place doesn't need one. The artwork was colorful and a contrast to the old building that left you open to possibilities. The menu had strong Thai influence, (owner was more comfortable with the term Asian), which they absolutely perfected and married with common bar entrees. The waitress Kayla was an absolute priceless gem. She was an experienced bartender and made me the best mojito I've ever been served. She assisted me with navigating the menu so I was able to have a full rating experience without going broke. The food came promptly and it was DELICIOUS! I was amazed at how well everything was prepared and the creativity the chef obviously had. The whole experience was just what I needed to make the last leg of my journey north. Thank you to all who made last night's dining experience possibe!

Two of us were from South Carolina and flew up on business. Some were from the area and some from Duluth but we all met last Thursday night at The White Horse. The food was amazing. I dont like brussel sprouts but those spicy thai brussel sprouts were delicious. I got the bacon cheese fries as an appetizer. Just don't really agree with $1.00 for a cup of ranch. I do believe that should come with the plate. An extra cup sure charge extra. I got the pad thai entree and it was better than some thai restaurants I've ate at locally. We all had a blast and our waitress though I can't recall her name was fantastic all night. If i ever make it back up to St. Cloud I'll definitely stop in again.

Stay away….Worst service in a long time. The waitress did not even attempt to be friendly and was out right rude when we asked what was on tap and just pushed the tap menu toward us saying “it’s all right there!”. I understand you don’t have time to explain all the taps to every table but treating customers as she did was not necessary. The other staff seemed more into their phones than helping with anything else. This could have all been overlooked if the food was amazing, but the food was also not good. If I wanted a hockey puck on a bun I would have stayed home and made one myself. The wings were salty and the ziti was okay but nothing great. I would not recommend this place.

We had dinner with the family this evening and the experience was terrible. Going down the list:

I ordered a Caesar Salad, assuming that I my salad would be paired with the traditional Caesar dressing. I was wrong. Instead, they paired it with a "house tangy dressing". This "house tangy dressing" was really just a vinaigrette. Not recommended. Fortunately, I swapped it out with a house salad - which by the way, is your best bet. (FYI -- The waitress was a bit snippy)

I ordered lamb chops medium rare, with a side of rosemary baby red potatoes. Instead, I got lamb chops (at least they got that right) - well done, and Brussel sprouts. The waiter had to retrieve my baby reds. FYI -- the Brussel sprouts consisted of only TWO edible pieces. I got tired of calling the waitress back, so I dealt with the well done lamb chops.

A family member waited twice the time to get their pizza, because they over-cooked the first pizza. It was nice enough that they compensated her with a cup of chili for the time being.

Another family member order a grilled chicken sandwich. The chicken was rubbery, and pink in the middle!!! I'm not sure how that's even possible, unless the chicked was frozen and cooked on high heat.

For the price that they are expecting their costumers to pay, their food and service should be up to par! What a waste!!

PS -- I've ordered their Pho in the past, and the "27 spice" was not flavorful at all. It was expensive, and salty. The beef based soup was definitely missing the beef flavor.

I would not recommend...

I've been here two separate times. The first time we walked in to a full bar - we weren't greeted and there was no where to sit anywhere so we stood at the bar. The bartender was rude and short with us. But once we were seated and got our food I was happy. I picked to eat here because they have vegan options. I've been wanting to come back for weeks while my boyfriend was in town and decided to eat here instead of the pickled loon because I wanted their earth burger. We walked in shortly after they opened. We were not greeted once again. We sat ourselves and a waitress did not come over for quit a few minutes. My bf commented they were probably irritated that we came ten minutes after opening. Shortly after ordering the waitress told me they had no more vegan buns. The whole reason I came here was for the burger. They charged me the same price to put the burger on rye bread...which I did not want. They were unapologetic, and wanted to serve it to me with no bun. Not something I want to pay $11 for! I took the bread option and It was like they took the bread and dipped it in a bucket of oil and it was hard and dry. The burger was tasteless. By far the worst food I've had and our waitress was unfriendly and unapologetic. Im also 90% sure the staff were joking about vegans, which is rather rude. An experience that will keep me from ever returning. I'll walk the extra block and pay more for food at the pickled loon. The staff could use some...

This place is located directly downtown St. Cloud. It has outdoor seating, provided the weather is good. No reservation needed but do give host your name and number, for contact Covid tracing. The Horse is a large bar that has booths, 6 or so, the bar and a few large tables, will hold around 8 people. The art work, hanging on the Tavern walls, is absolutely fab, and available for purchase, GO NEW ARTISTS, at present there is a instillation of a Chicken, full frontal, lmao, in the likeness of the Andy Warhols Soup Can images... It was easy to hold a convo, without yelling to each other. The service was spot on and i waited for NOTHING.. PRETTY GIRLS AND SOME HANDSOME men working the bar and floor, always smiling and knowledgeable about the days specials. The menu is full of many different foods, all differents flavors, from different regions of the globe. I myself chose the $25, 3 different types of fish, entree with an Indian bend.. Salmon, Coconut Milk Rice. So yummy. The other 2 fish items were Almond Crusted Walleye and a Fish nd Chips option. For the amount of monies, you certainly get a large amount of food on your plate. Absolutley worth every penny spent. The plate was so full of food we couldn't, for once, save room for dessert... For my Weed loving peeps, the appetizers would certainly curb y'alls munchie cravings.. Remember, support your local establishments, during the pandemic, and...
