Plaza Jalisco Mexican Restaurant & Cantina — Restaurant in St. James

Food was fair,our meals were served about 10 minutes apart from each other, had to stop a waiter to ask for more chips/ salsa and refills on soda and water, our waitress only took our order snd didn’t come back until it was clear we was done eating to ask if everything was okay & upon our request brought us 2 to go boxes…dropped those off with no ticket. We sat at our booth for a minute Expedia ticket to come so we could also request our to go drinks but that never happened so we finally walked up front to the register and waited for someone to get us checked out and our to go drinks…also a mini daycare in the back half of the restaurant with the employees children and all their toys…. $53 for 2 people one of which had water & the other a soda, so not very budget...

We just ate at plaza Jalisco in St James mn, was the second worse dining experience I've had and I'm not usually one to complain, we got seated, chips arrived but no menu and no drink orders taken, we noticed only one person doing all the work, I had to go ask for a menu 20 minutes later, they took our order about an hour into it. Our food came but still had to wait another 10 minutes for tortillas. Then we had to ask for a Togo box and our bill, the lady just ignored us and went to serve other people. So we asked different lady and got our Togo box but no bill. We then just decided to stand at the counter and if they wanted to get paid they would ring us up. Very very bad service, needless to say...

Everyone around here seems to go to la plaza fiesta, in my unbiased opinion jalisco is better In 9 out of ten categories. I eat there about once a month and I have never once been disappointed. The food is always hot, drinks cold, tables neat, and the out door patio swept. The out door seating is a major plus. My favorite restaurant in town. If your looking for a suggestion, their chimichangas and chili rellenos are fantastic. If your a big eater go with the #14 is my personal favorite. If not so much go with the #3 or #4.
