Phenomenal BBQ! Add this to your must-visit list. If you're in hungry, in the area and like BBQ... you're in luck! This is some amazing food and great customer service. The people working there are super friendly and have no problem going over all of the details of the menu for those who are visiting for the first time. They will answer all of your questions with a smile and you don't feel rushed at all while making a decision. The food came out quickly and exactly as ordered. The ribs were outstanding! The highlight of our meal. The brisket was good but not great. A minor nit pick but for me it's the thing I use to grade all BBQ joints as brisket is the trickiest to get right. Warning: dorky detailed explanation ahead so if you don't care skip this paragraph.... Primary reason is because I prefer my brisket from the "wet" side of the cut or the point as some call it. This makes for a more marbled, juicy and flavor brisket experience which I prefer. Most BBQ places will let you specify and expect it. At Adam's they save this cut to make burnt ends which I understand but I feel like they very tip of the point makes for the best burnt ends and the rest could be served to guests who prefer it over the drier lean portion of the cut often referred to as the "flat" of the brisket. A real bummer for me but my wife likes the lean cuts so she was fine with it. This was the only reason I wasn't able to get to five stars as it's a big deal to me but many customers probably won't notice or care. The sides were great as well. We had the Mac & Cheese that was moist and tender and perfectly prepared. It was a little on the bland side but still had real good flavor so that word seems a little strong here but it could have used just a bit more cheese flavor to be perfect. The baked beans were a home run though and I'm normally not a big fan of baked beans. To the behest of the person taking our order I decided to give them a try and wasn't let down at all. Great smokey flavor and the texture was perfect. Never thought I'd say this but the baked beans were nearly my favorite part of the meal. If the ribs weren't so good they may have stole the show. If you're hungry, looking for good 'que and in the area or even close give this place a try. You won't be disappointed. Why are you still reading?! Go eat already! lol

Just Wow!! If anyone follows my reviews, they know our favorite places tend to be the Mom and Pop type. We're not necessarily fans of corporate anything. Which brings us to this little gem. Wow were we pleasantly surprised. We were out hitting a few estate/yard sales and decided on an early lunch. I did a little Google search and found Adam's Smokehouse. It sounded really good and we hadn't had BBQ in a while. Found it easily close to the corner of Watson and Southwest. Adam's is small and the parking could be challenging but we were early and parked in front of the main entrance. We walked in, made our choices, and sat down at a high top. The food came out rather quickly, and the service was outstanding. The staff was gracious and very helpful with the sauces and options of food choices. The style of BBQ here is Memphis Dry Rub, which we both love. The Ribs were fantastic, perfect combination of tender with a slight tug off the bone. The Pulled Pork was very tender and had a great flavor. The Burnt Ends were really good, and my wife had the Burnt Ends Salad and said it was possibly the best salad she's ever had. Outstanding! And don't forget the Pit Beans, perfect! We ordered more Burnt Ends, Pulled Pork, and Pit Beans for our Son and dinner later. We also had a Chocolate Chip Bar/Brownie, and it finished everything off very well. We met Mike, the owner, and had a great conversation. What a nice guy. Great people are working here, trying hard to make your experience a great one. We really enjoyed our lunch and our time here at Adam's Smokehouse. We will definitely be going back anytime we crave quite possibly, "The" Best BBQ In St Louis!! Highly Recommended-MVP!! Thanks Mike! ***Again, we stopped in for lunch. If you haven't tried out Adam's Smokehouse yet, you're missing out!!! Get down there and take your family too. You won't regret it!!! Mark The Shark

I have been ordering the slabs of ribs for a few years now. My last two orders did not meet the quality of the ribs I had ordered in the past and I was disappointed and felt I wasted my 35.00. My order was so over charred a couple months ago, I couldn't bite through the char which of course left me with a minimum amount of edible meat. I ordered a couple days ago, paid for and left a generous tip on my carryout order which I was picking up the following day. I requested a light char this time. Upon picking up my order, I asked if it had a heavy char, which I did not want and asked for ahead of time. One of the servers immediately interjected and stated their ovens were set at a certain temperature and seemed defensive. I stated it was a preference of mine. I understand the concept of smoking meat and this also includes a pitmaster or cook in this case who oversees the cooking of the meat. I could barely chew threw the heavy char on my order from a couple months aga and there was not a lot of tender, falling off the bone meat. Yesterday's order turned out to be a disappointment as well. Portions of the rack were charred and I get it. However, the quality of my slab of ribs was sub par. The meat was greasy and slimy and I couldn't even eat the meat from the ends of the slab. I had a portion and was saving the rest to eat later. I ended up not doing this. The consistency in the quality of the meat isn't the same as I remember it being in the past. I cannot recommend Adam's Smokehouse any longer as I'm unsure if the product would not only meet, but surpass your expectations. The slabs of ribs I purchased recently looked nothing like the photos you may have viewed in previous reviews or...
