The place looks very nice inside, and the atmosphere was laid back and chill. However, the bartender seemed very bothered and lacked customer service. It was my first time there and I stood up at the bar for a while and it wasn't until I stopped the bartender in passing and asked her a question. She acted as if she didn't want to be stopped, but she could have at least addressed me and let me know she would be with me shortly. She walked past me several times and never said a word until I decided to stop her on my own.
When I stopped her I asked if the kitchen was open and she said the kitchen is closed very short and then I went on to ask what time does it close she looked at me like it doesn't matter, it's closed, then she proceeded to say 10. She then walked off and I still stood at the bar to order a drink. She finally came around the bar after seeing me continue to stand up there. I then asked about the price of the frozen drinks and flavors of them, she was very short and answered as if she didn't even wanna be bothered again. I had to finally advise to her that I've never been there before and that's why I'm asking her these questions....only then is when she lightened up - "just a bit".
I was really ready to go then because of how stand-offish and low key rude she was acting, but my friend who was with me wanted to try the frozen drinks out so we stayed. We both ordered frozen drinks and tipped the bartender $2 each inspite of how her demeanor was.....once we sat down, we tried the drinks....they tasted very watered down and you couldn't taste hardly any alcohol, however, we stayed and drank as much as we could because we didn't want to waste the $12 we spent on those drinks.
I'll probably return again and try out their food because the photos look very good...but I would hope that this isn't the normal way their bartenders come off to new comers who are trying to support another black owned establishment....and would hope that maybe if I encountered the same bartender again, that she would be in much better mood....smh. The top 2 attributes a bartender should have is patience and...
Read moreI drive past this place a lot and never paid it any attention. My friend and I wanted some frozen drinks and food. When I say this place was a pleasant surprise. From the security to the ladies working at the bar we felt cared for. Even the other patrons were really nice. You can tell they are regulars there and we enjoyed that. The drinks were A1 in taste and buzz level. The only âissueâ I had was the menu I read about online wasnât as extensive. I had my heart set on something I didnât see in person but thatâs not a dealbreaker. They will...
Read moreI visited here for the first time on the evening of 7/22. Met a friend there. Music stopped and was told "not y'all stopped the music!" by staff. We then sat and had a discussion of how it reminded us of a memory that we shared. The owners/handlers overheard it and thought we were dissing the place. The music then stopped again and an announcement was made that "this is not the grove". So in conclusion, this is a decent place as long as you don't accidently offend the handlers because then homophobia will come out. I liked the...
