Found this little gem today and man am I sad I didn't find it before! THE best gyro I've had in the StL area, they do it right with the shaved gyro meats! I can't stand the big chunky stuff that most people serve around here, that is not authentic to me. But this place ... this place! GAH!! It is about 30 minutes from home but I definitely see it becoming a weekly visit. I wish I had taken pics of my food but I hadn't eaten all day so it was gone in an instant. I got the regular gyro with fries and a slice of carrot cake. The pita was soft and warm, the meat THINLY SLICED 😍🥰 and high quality toppings. Their tzatzki sauce was amazing as well. I am usually not a big fan of the tzatzki but it was so good I could have used a little more on my gyro 😋 the fries were hot and crispy and seasoned as well. Remember that carrot cake i mentioned? Yea...probably the best I've ever had. Better than NBC (iykyk) by far. Only $3 per slice too. My bf tried the baklava and said it was good but the carrot cake was superior. I asked one of the guys working if it was homemade and he said yes...and I believe him. There are a few tables in the front lobby, and I noticed towards the end of our visit that people were also sitting in the back. I didn't go back there but the people working were serving them back there as well. The place was jumping from the time we walked in until the time we left, so I'm definitely late to the party but IM HERE NOW 🥳
PS: customer service top tier as well 👏🏽...
Read moreWe’ve been disappointed with the last few places of gyros we’ve had. St Louis has a good gyro spot in UCity, but none in the Gravois area. Seeing the reviews for this place we were excited and the place did not disappoint. We saw 5 other families walk in after we did and the service continued to be spectacular.
The classic is what it is - good amount of slices of gyro meat with onion, tomato, lettuce, cucumber sauce on a warm pita bread. If you’re looking for cheese options then go for the supreme. My only tweak would be having the meat cut out slightly thicker and increasing the tomatoes usage.
We also got their Doner Kebab and it was fantastic. The bread was pillowy, the meat was the same as the classic with a slight charring that added to the crispiness and veggies including cucumber sauce.
All in all, this place deserves a mention because the gyros are awesome, better than the bummer ones we’ve had, service is quick and friendly despite the rush, the menu is limited thereby accomplishing solid choices time...
Read moreTldr; if you aren't a foodie, you'll find a decent gyro and friendly service. If you are, i'd look elsewhere.
I hate to knock this place because they are so friendly, but the gyros just don't live up to what a gyro could be. The gyro and chicken on the rotisseries seem to be set quite low, because the meats never brown on the outside. Having some of those crispier browned pieces is a staple for me. Though the real lackluster part of the meal is the pita bread; it's a bit dry and lukewarm at best. A true proper gyro / döner will have a bread that has soaked up a bit of grease from the meats and throw onto a flat top briefly. This quality or lack thereof can really make or break any pita sandwich.
The meat has some good flavor, but it could have more no question. The hummus is decent, fries are what you'd expect from a Gyro restaurant (thick, on the soggy side). All of the ingredients are very fresh. If you're to a quick simple gyro form very friendly staff, you'll...
