I recently dined at Puerto Nuevo Fresh Mex in St. Paul, Virginia, and it was so fantastic that I have to share! My spouse and I had an impromptu date night, and the experience was unforgettable. The service and atmosphere were outstanding, making it worth a review.

From the moment we walked in, the warm, vibrant vibe made us feel right at home. The décor is a perfect blend of traditional and modern Mexican styles, creating a cozy and inviting space. We were greeted with friendly smiles and seated right away.

The menu at Puerto Nuevo Fresh Mex is packed with authentic Mexican dishes. Every bite was delicious and showed the chef’s dedication to quality.

What sets this place apart is the service. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing our dining experience. Despite being busy, we never felt rushed and received great attention throughout our meal.

Although I didn’t plan to take photos, the fantastic flavors and memories are unforgettable.

Puerto Nuevo Fresh Mex is also a perfect spot for families with kids. A balloon animal expert came around, making a race car and motorcycle out of balloons for the children – they were thrilled!

Edited to add... on occasion 3 times a month, would not he out of hand for this family to visit!

This restaurant has overtaken any other restaurant as the favorite of favorites of my family! Situated in a small town is a gem of a place! This place definitely gets our patronage at least 1 to 2 times a month! We love the wait staff... never had a bad server! From birthdays to its just Thursday let's go eat---- WORTH IT EVERY TIME!! Texas fajitas are my go-to at any Mexican restaurant to see what they do with their protein and seasonings. Huge portions, flavor, and satisfying! The seafood boil, tilapia.... even down to the sauce bar is awesome. I've said it once I will say it again.... the wait staff has me! They are attentive, they make good recommendations of food and drinks. My daughter is shy, but she will talk to these servers (one fella in particular --her fav--who has worked to get her to look up from her nenu and speak up). They have a kids' day every now and then, and the balloon guy is a hoot! Trivia, karaoke, and specials... come off the trailhead and down the road to eat after a long ride, come after a swim in the local public pool, get there for a moment.... an event in your life, definitely visit just because...

Great little spot in the Western Front Hotel. Our server was new and wasn't really familiar with a lot of the menu, but she did have someone shadowing her, so no issues there. Family really enjoyed the food, salsa bar is a nice touch. I did have the seafood platter with Catfish, Shrimp and Oysters. The shrimp were outstanding and oysters were good. The catfish was awful though, it had absolutely no flavor at all, and not really a fan of picking the bones out of fish when spending that kind of money.

Menu is huge and there are a lot of options, we may have to try a few more and provide an update. Family did agree though, the food at Los Rodeos in Norton Walmart shopping center is...
