Joey's Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in Stafford Township

I had posted a review after my first visit to Joey's late last year. Unfortunately, after several more visits, both dine in and take out, my opinion has changed vastly.

The quality of the food is lacking. It's clear in the portion sizes that the business chooses quantity over quality.

I've had several dishes which have had to be sent back. Once it was a dish that was supposed to be filet of sole, which was very clearly not. This past week my chicken was ice cold. At the time my chicken was sent back, another guest at my table expressed that she needed a fork. She waited another 7 minutes until she got the fork. When I asked the waitress why she waited so long, the waitress replied that when she had to bring my chicken in to be heated, she was not allowed to leave, she had to wait.

This is the most bizarre answer I have ever heard. If this is in fact true to the operating style at Joey's, I'd say management needs to check themselves.

Needless to say, by the time she received her fork, her food was cold.

All in all, the food is mediocre, the pizza is meh and the servers, while all polite, are just not up to snuff. Additionally, I will comment that each time I have been there, I have never one seen a manager or someone in the role of supervision. This might be something that Joey's Manahawkin should consider...

I stopped into Joey's with my Mother as she lives very close-by...and it was convenient after a long day...I know from the past that they are cheapie with the cheese on a cheesesteak but ordered cheesesteak and fries ..$3.59 for side of fries with cheese..no biggie...went to moms...opened the box of fries...they were tiny little skinny shoe string fries ...some burnt and inedible...the were flimsy and greasy..etc..yuk!!! Thought this is some kind of mistake...right down the road...I will bring them back...and get a new, fresh order or onion rings instead.. Went in...girl behind counter..young with tattoos..one on her forearm asked if she could help..I opened box of fries and asked politely if this is how they presented and sold their French fries....she looked at me like I had three heads!!! Nor did she answer me....I said these are tiny burnt pieces of fries etc is this how they normally are? She nodded a yes..AT that point I just asked for a refund..she went into the register and gave me the money back ..never said ONE WORD to me...no sorry or anything...so rude!!! With a stare that could knock u out!!! Reason for the review is Joey's owner should know that one can forgive a mistake with the food..but not customer service representative of your...

I cannot drive during a flare up with recuperating from brain surgery as the weather affects it. I ordered from Joey’s who has excellent food in Manahawkin. I live within a block or two away and ordered 3 entrees, pizza, flounder francaise and mussel entree. As we were getting ready to start eating there was no linguine with the mussels. I called and advised them and explained my situation. I was rudely told that I was charged for the appetizer and not dinner. I told them that I had wanted the dinner and if there were any reservations about the order I should have gotten a phone call. They did not even want to accommodate me.......could either wait 45 minutes and pay an extra $4 , which the pizza and other entree would be cold since we wanted to eat together or someone could pick it up, but mind you I couldn’t drive. Pasta in a restaurant is semi cooked and costs less than $1 a box. It could have been very easily taken care of if the gal would have either had the driver or someone else run it over to me (taken all of 2 minutes), or had given me a comp since the individual who ordered the mussels was still hungry.
