1234 Pizza — Restaurant in Stamford

CT style pizza is a hype-job like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I grew up in Long Island, pizza capital of the world. When I moved to Stamford, I was forced to endure endless hyping of mediocre CT style pizza. Colony is dominos. Sorry, but it’s just not that good. Remo’s is solid, and I figured that’s the closest I’d ever get to NY pizza in CT. But just when all hope seemed lost, a glimmer of hope...1234Pizza has a review by a woman from NY with my same struggle. And she says it’s as good as NY! So, I take a leap of faith and order a large pie for me and my wife(also from NY.) I immediately knew I was going to love it when I opened the box. This is hands down the best pizza in all of Stamford, and it’s not particularly close. Sorry Remos. Awful! I called this restaurant before I placed an order on Uber eats. I asked the woman if I could have chicken cutlet on my Buffalo chicken pizza, rather than grilled chicken. (Never heard of anyone using grilled chicken on a buffalo chicken pizza anyway). She told me “yes, no problem.” I have a son who won’t eat chicken any other way so this was important. When the pizza arrived, it was grilled chicken! Along with a note saying “sorry we’ll do cutlet for you next time.” What!? I mean I specifically asked for it, and was told yes. I called the restaurant and was told “sorry the chef didn’t see the note in time to make the cutlet.” I would have never ordered this pizza if it was going to be grilled chicken. The woman told me some guy (manager?) was going to give me a call, and he never did. No offer of making a new pizza for me or anything from them. Won’t be back...

We live less than 1 mile away. Last night received a cold pizza. When we phoned to tell them, the staff was already aware our pizza was cold, and did not offer any remedy at all. I left my number for the owner manager to call us, and nobody called. I phoned again today and the best they would offer me is $7 refund. We will never go here again, and we are calling our credit card company to reverse the charges. I am only leaving 1 star because I cannot leave 0 stars. Beware. (For full disclosure, we have ordered from here many times and everything was always great, but their rigidity and attitude toward a customer that was knowingly given cold food but expected to pay as if everything was fine without any sort of remedy has forced me to edit my previous review here.
