Cove Pizza — Restaurant in Stamford

I’ve been a loyal customer of Cove Pizza for years. It used to be my go-to — dependable, familiar, and consistent. But after my recent experience, I won’t be going back. What happened wasn’t just disappointing — it was completely unacceptable.

I placed an online order for pickup, like I’ve done many times before. When I arrived, I was told my order was gone — the delivery driver had mistakenly taken it. Instead of remaking the food or offering a real solution, the cashier told me to just go home and wait for the driver to bring it. I live three minutes away. I waited over two hours.

When the food finally arrived, it was cold. My salad was missing dressing — including the extra I had paid for. I called the restaurant, expecting at least a basic apology. Instead, I was told that if I wanted the dressing, I’d need to come pick it up myself. No accountability, no care — just a “not our problem” attitude.

So I returned with the cold food, calmly, expecting someone to make it right.

Instead, a man came out from the kitchen and immediately started telling me to be quiet — no explanation, no apology, just aggression. Then, in front of my son, he raised his middle finger and started yelling. I was stunned. And then I realized — he smelled like alcohol. Strongly.

How is that even possible? How is someone allowed to be drunk at work — in the kitchen, around food, interacting with customers?

BUYER BEWARE

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with a recent experience at your establishment. I had previously purchased a large cheese pizza, which I found to be below average in taste. Despite this, given your convenient location, I decided to give your restaurant a second chance. My second visit was highly unsatisfactory due to the incredibly rude behavior of your staff. When I inquired about purchasing pizza by the slice, I was initially told "yes," but then informed that "specialty pizza" was not available by the slice, which was not clear. When I attempted to confirm the ingredients on a specialty pizza, a male employee with a hat (no gloves) who was handing food behind the counter interjected with an aggressive and rude response, stating, "EVERYTHING ON THE PIZZA IS WRITTEN ON THE MENU!" His attitude and demeanor were completely unacceptable. The combination of the poor food quality and the unprofessional customer service has led me to conclude that I will not be returning to your establishment. So every so often we go to cove food is great, but we usually don’t order anything other than the standards like pizza, chicken strips, wings, ect. But I wanted something different so I ordered the chicharon which wasn’t great but this dish does have a lot of potential. The pork was nicely cooked crispy yet moist inside but it was fairly bland. The onion salad would have been great but it was over salted to the point that it was hard to eat on it’s on. The aioli sauce was delicious spicy really spicy but tasty. If I ate all the items in one mouthful the taste was really good but on it’s own it just needed a little more seasoning and less salt. Anyway give them a try their mozzarella sticks are delicious the pizza is great, the wings, chicken the fries are cooked perfectly....
