We were just here over the weekend. We had such high hopes, and were sorely disappointed. Where do I begin? The food was ok, though the steak in the fajitas was not trimmed and was half fat and cut into portions much too large for fajitas. It also tasted really gamey, like it may have actually been goat or venison... The cheese dip was very runny, almost like it had been watered down. Salsa was bland and definitely watered down. Service was slow, despite not being crowded. I ordered a steak quesadilla but was served chicken. The kicker: We ordered 2 fountain cokes, and when they got to us 20 minutes later, there was some kind of disgusting film on the surface of the coke, ice and collected around the straw. It floated, so I'm assuming (hoping really because I took a big gulp before I noticed) it was grease from the dishwasher, though that is no less disgusting. We did not make a huge fuss, but we did request bottled coke instead of the fountain and were offered a discount from our server because of it. They ended up charging us for both fountain and bottled beverages and no discount despite even being asked by and explaining the issue with the drinks to the manager whom approached us. Also, our meal after a meager tip (because of all of the above) cost $50 for 2 people. With the delicious and well-priced Rockhouse Cafe and Miguel's Pizza so close by, I can guarantee that we'll NEVER be back. So much for Southern...
Read moreMy family and I stopped in here for a bite on Father's day 2021 after a little hiking and camp site exploration on Indian Creek. We were very impressed of the place as it is built like a Cabana on the beach! But it's in the Mountains of Kentucky on the Creek! 😊 The building itself is built so that you can be sitting inside the building at counter high tables overlooking the Creek and Beautiful mountain scenery while listening to an awesome Old School Rock Playlist and the sound of the Creek, there are half overhead garage doors that line the 3 outside walls above the counter high tables that are all open to give you the feel of being in a Cabana on the Beach. The Food is AMAZING!!! AUTHENTIC MEXICAN!! and the STAFF/WAITRESSES are Very Friendly and on TOP of EVERYTHING. They also have a full Bar with Domestic and Imported beer and MARGARITAS 🍹😋 This is OUR KIND OF PLACE! So if you're looking for a place to have some AWESOME MEXICAN FOOD or just to Relax and have a BEER/MARGARITA or Two !! stop by the La Cabana Mexican Restaurant you will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED I PROMISE 😊😋❤......P.S....Would be a good idea to call ahead to check wait times, we waited 30min. But they have a nice area to wait outside with Giant outdoor Connect 4 boards and a Giant Jenga game to keep you...
Read moreWas in area visiting Red River Gorge. Chose here based on google reviews. Parking lot is terrible. Inside is just a bunch of random stuff. They give you chips and salsa to get started. The salsa is pretty bland. I ordered a grilled chicken taco, grilled steak taco and chicken quesadilla. The tacos were packed with a ton of meat. I'm all for large portion sizes but there was just way to much meat on these tacos. You couldn't even fold them over. The steak had great flavor. The grilled chicken was overcooked and bland. Disappointing. The quesadilla was basically not edible. I tried to eat some of it but it was terrible. They use pulled chicken for this dish and it's not good at all. It's just this watery flavorless chicken with an oily taste. My quesadilla was just sitting in a puddle when they gave it to me. You could tell right away it was going to be soggy. They had so much chicken in this quesadilla I was blown away. I was expecting a thin cheese and chicken tortilla that was grilled or pressed on both sides. I was given this nasty chicken piled into a tortilla that I don't even think was grilled. We just got done hiking around RRG and wanted something fresh and light to eat. Beyond disappointed with this place. Would...
