the manager of this place is in the reviews saying they did not refuse service but they most definitely did. i payed for my gelato and then was told i had to get a refund because the manager would not let the (amazing and super kind!! no hate to them at all they were amazing) staff serve me due to my peanut allergy. even though they were willing to go the extra mile and clean the scoop and get ice cream out of the back for me, and i was willing to take the risk as i had an epipen and it was just caramel gelato. during all of this, we had another lady come up to us and let us know that a lady in front of her was ALSO refused service due to her peanut allergy. it is 2025 guys, itās not that hard to have an allergen side with peanut and other nut ice cremes/products and one side without them, and if you clean the spoon and have a clean facility, it should not be an issue either way. we would have just went to another place if they wouldāve had a sign that says that they do not serve people with allergies, but I had already paid and waited for a while before I was told that I was actually not allowed to get anything from their facility. at first, I was told I could get a slushy and then I was told that the manager had said I was not allowed to order anything. we went down the street to another place that (had no gelato but what i thought and what the staff of the place said but i could be wrong) the same exact ice cream brand as this place and had i no issue. again, the staff and the girls that helped us were super sweet about the whole thing, it seems as if this is a managerās policy so i hope the girls face 0 hate or repercussions from this. I recommend at least having a big sign that says that you refuse to accommodate allergies, and something online about it, if youāre not willing to fix this and make this place more accessible for others. I deserve ice cream and a sweet treat just the same as anybody else who doesnāt have an allergy, after all, itās not my fault I have an allergy. plus iām sure you would make much more profits if you sold products to people with allergies. but having to pay and wait and then get told i couldnāt get anything...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had a fantastic experience at The Ice Cream Shop after a day of hiking in the beautiful Red River Gorge area. It's the perfect place to treat the kids, offering delicious dairy-free alternatives like cashew milk salted caramel and vanilla bean ice cream, which is great for those with dietary restrictions. They also have floats and sundaes as well as a variety of ice cream flavors like banana cream butterscotch, chocolate almond, coffee lover, cookies and cream, bourbon caramel sundae, and many more! I chose the butterfinger milkshake and it did not disappoint! Parking was a breeze, and there was ample seating to accommodate our family comfortably. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming and family-friendly. Whether you're exploring the nearby Natural Bridge State Resort Park or just passing through Slade, this spot is a must-visit for ice cream lovers....

Stopped in recently to try the eggnog softserve and it did not disappoint (see picture)! This weekend they had the chocolate and peanut butter softserve, which I added Reese Cup pieces too for a little extra punch of flavor! I was so excited to try it I didn't even think to take a picture this time š. Staff are always friendly and attentive! We stepped inside the attached gift shop and looked around while enjoying our ice cream since it was chilly outside. The gift shop staff is just as friendly, even though we didn't buy anything. By the way, there is a restroom inside the gift shop if nature calls while...
