Locals Espresso — Restaurant in Stanwood

I’ve tried Locals twice- The first time my coffee tasted terrible and wasn’t the right color, I don’t get a complicated drink. I mentioned it to the barista, confirming my order was heard correctly. She was so rude, and dismissive I decided not to return and to just continue going to their neighboring stand- where my drink is 100% consistent every time. No hard feelings, locals just wasn’t for me.

The second time was today. A friend of mine is a locals regular; she buys two coffees every day from their stands. I wanted to get her a gift card for Locals so I hopped in line. There were two cars ahead of me, one already at the window when I pulled around, the other still waiting. I waited 7 mins, and the first car was still chatting after receiving her drinks, I didn’t have much time to wait, so I attempted to back out of their drive through since it’s one way in/out, and then another truck pulled behind me, making me ultimately stuck and waiting for the same two cars; as there’s no way around or out once you’ve been sandwiched in. It took 14 mins for me to drive through the window- I didn’t even stop because I wasn’t prepared to sit at the coffee stand for 20 mins this morning. A 7min per car turn around is shocking in the coffee stand business. Needless to say, I had to just drive right through the window. I’ve worked in the drive through coffee industry for years, and the general expectation is 2 mins at most. Super disappointed in my experiences...

Are the lines long sometimes? Yup. Is the service fast and efficient? Yup. Are the workers friendly? Yes. Is the coffee good? Absolutely.

Do they wear masks? Nope, and good for them. If that bothers you then go elsewhere and stop crying in the reviews, it's childish. Grow up and go elsewhere.

These employees work their buttons off every day, with waves of customers, and make some of the best coffee I've ever had at a stand in my life.

Starbucks would fall in entirety if locals became a global corporation with their coffee ☕

I'll recommend this place to anyone, simply a fantastic place for a hot, morning coffee 😄

It's no wonder why Locals consistently has a line -- their coffee is sublime! The service is quick and cheerful, and during rush periods they'll sometimes use the first drive-up window for even faster brewing. Adore the quirky, retro branding and certainly enjoy supporting a local (ha), homegrown business.

Keep an eye out for specials, and ask to see the hugely extensive syrup flavor menu if that's what you fancy. They have beautiful Lotus drinks, too! Definitely worth a...
