Food was bland. There wasn't much flavor to anything. The gravy tasted of unseasoned flour. Besides the distinct lack of flavor, it also seemed to be entirely unsalted. Which is fine, I get it. A lot of elderly eat there. Though they hardly provide viable salt at the table.

The salt shaker was lumpy. I had to take the top off to get any out. It wouldn't fit through the holes. The pepper wasn't lumpy, but I also needed to take the top off due to how slowly it came out.

My scrambled eggs were hardly scrambled. There were distinct whites riddled with yellow streaks.

My hashbrowns were barely cooked.

The service was awful. We were waiting for a table to get cleaned. They missed the spilt milk on my seat. I had to talk to multiple people before it got cleaned up. One waiter hallered at another one to stop what she was doing (which was taking someone elses order) to come clean up our booth. She didn't. It seems like her remark fell on deaf ears. We waited until we saw another staff member.

Our primary waiter was maybe 16 and ill trained. She avoided eye contact every time she walked by and walked quickly like she was trying not to get stopped for anything.

The person who delivered our food was nice and she filled up my soda for me. We had almost no service. It took great effort and patience to get the 2 refills that we got. I had to ask the food deliverer and the designated water filler both of whom were not my actual waiter.

The toast was good. The cashier was great. I'm a sucker for breakfast food. It's hard to screw up packaged chicken friend steak and hashbrowns to the point of being inedible, so overall it was an...

Wow This was a lesson in why you ask around before eating places.

Upon walking into the cafe, the first thing I noticed was the fact that at 1pm it was empty, maybe 3 other tables in a place with roughly 25-30 tables thats not a good sign on a sunny saturday, decided to give it ago anyhow. Sat down at the counter, right away i see a dirty split pea soup pan in front of me, figured eh waitress will move it when she brings my menu. Nope 30 + mins of staring into dirty split pea soup. Ordered the hash browns, eggs and half order of biscuits and gravy. So the food arrives and I immediately notice a off color to the gravy, figure maybe its homemade. Try a bit of it and wow it was like, paste and urine mixed together.

The only thing that could truly help this place in my eyes would be to get new owners, fire everyone and start fresh. Mind you I've only worked as a cook for 13 years tho so what do I know.

Enjoy your...

Waited 20 minutes to order, no waitress - she just walks past. Has since seated other people and brought there orders. Call to complain (wrong time of day- I shouldn't have) I was not nice, so she hung up on me. Alan called, long story short if we aren't happy don't come back. 20+years going there with slowing stopping from dining in, what I thought was cute little Cafe is just disgustingly dirty, dusty, water stained ceiling, cracked Booths let you feel you like your sitting on the floor......why did I think the food is safe? How does health department not close them? So no problem Alan...

Loved it, I just love old style restaurants. It’s in the old part of town and maybe not that appealing on the outside but it’s really cool on the inside. I stopped by for breakfast on a weekday, not busy. Ordered an omelette and toast. Came with a more than generous portion of hash Browns. Really enjoyed it, couldn’t eat all the hash browns. Server was sweet and efficient and they had a newspaper on the counter, when was the last time you saw that.

We enjoyed our breakfast as the food was fresh and cooked perfectly. We ordered the #3 breakfast which includes 2 huge pancakes which were delicious. There was so much food we had to take some home. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was well maintained and it has the 1950's vibe.
