I am not from the area and I had a very important meeting to go to at the local Hospital. I promised coffee so I needed to show up with a show stopper as far as coffee goes! I googled Coffee Shops nearby and came across Stomping Grounds. Now... I am in LOVE with coffee. My whole kitchen is decorated in coffee!! Coffee is my favorite beverage and I go to sleep at night looking forward to that beautiful aroma of coffee filling the house during the dawn of the day! It is simply precious. When I walked into Stomping Grounds, I had no idea that I would be greeted by such sweet and genuine people. I felt at home the minute I walked in. I ordered several coffees to bring to my client without having a clue as to what the coffee would taste like. I grabbed the coffees, headed to my meeting and must say it was LOVE AT FIRST SIP!!!!! I had a Pumpkin Spice Latte and it was unbelievable! I just about forgot I had to have a meeting! Once reality kicked in, I noticed the same look of pure bliss on everyone else's faces as they sipped their coffees too! Thank you, Stomping Grounds for being my "icing on the cake" during my meeting. Or should I say "the froth on the latte!?" Excellent stuff! I will be back again and again when I...

Everywhere I travel, I search for good espresso. Outstanding espresso bars have become quite common in larger cities and urban settings around the United States but are noticeably less common in rural communities and small towns. Stomping Grounds in my hometown bucks that small town trend, pulling espresso shots that are rich, bright, and delicious, with a wonderful aroma and lovely crema.
I visited several times on this trip, and the service was invariably friendly. The shop’s decor is rustic and coffee focused, and the atmosphere reflects a steady flow of loyal, local customers.
The prices are reasonable, although the price for the standard double espresso ($4) is a little high and a little strange, relative to the prices for a single shot ($1.75) or a quad ($4.50). And the espresso would be even better in an actual espresso cup, rather than a coffee mug or 16 oz to-go cup (which is why there are no photos of the actual espresso). Still, these are minor observations for areas of potential improvement in the context of an otherwise terrific experience.
Given my love for a nice espresso, I’m grateful for Stomping Grounds. I will be back every time I visit...
Read moreNew to town. I buy a coffee every single morning, 7 days a week, at caribou in Little Falls, or loco espress in brainerd. but I came in to Stomping Grounds today because I am transitioning to shopping local small businesses only. Their menu was a little confusing, I could see they must have specialty drinks… but none are on their menu… so I asked if I could get a few shots of espresso, iced and shaken with caramel and was told they will not shake any drinks. after looking stupidly at their very vague menu for a few minutes, I saw there were people behind me waiting patiently.. so I just decided to leave. They could be more welcoming, especially when you can tell someone has never been there before. 🫣 wish they would have pointed me to their specialty menu so I could at least give their coffee a try!...
