Once upon a time, Tower Pizza.. 15, 20, 25, 30 years ago....
This hometown pizza shack had been recognized by many locals, and tons other passers by to be the most legendary pizza place ever, and have the best pizza of any pizza place in the state, five state area, and country in my opinion😋. I have heard people rave of such places as House of Pizza in St. Cloud , Godfathers, Pizza Ranch, Hot Stuff, Pizza Hut, Dominos and so many others! Which none of them have any comparison to the deep dish pizza in this original, home town pizza joint, under the ownership of Roger and Sherry Rasmussen at the time. The calazones were to blow your mind, stuffed with ingredients to the gill, more than one person could eat for such a great price and downright another legendary menu item they offered! The daily soup and chilli was as good as home made and delicious with a side of cheesy garlic toast. They offered unlimited coffee and beverages with any meal. Everything they had was a wonderful treat to anyone! Along the way, Tower change ownerships and with it they changed the recipes for the dough and sauce and with it the cheese and quality of ingredients attempting to make the same pizza with less. For many years Tower Pizza lost it identity with one of a kind, high quality, hot and fresh pizza, Pizza Toast, Taco Pizza, Lasgna, Spaghetti and much more. ONCE AGAIN THE OWNERSHIP HAS CHANGED to the current owners that are there now. I can definitely see the vision they have here again! The pizza is finding its roots and is once again as I remember it to be as a kid. I want to thank the staff, which was seemingly plentiful and always busy producing nothing but the finest pies around. Keep up the good efforts and thank you! I will definitely be ordering a calazone soon to ✔ if it is a legit "Tower Pizza" calozone of the ages. Everyone should...
Read moreUPDATE: August 2025 This place is back to being a disappointment again. Pizza was substandard in every way. Toppings were [way too] stingy AND poor quality. We love cheese: theirs is poor quality. We like onions: theirs were... not good, and this was the only topping that there was too much of! The price vs. quality of pizza's is not at all justified.
The nostalgic music that gave the tiny space such a fun atmosphere is gone. Removing much of what little character this place had going for it.
Wait-staff service was almost non-existent, & not particularly friendly.
Personally sick of places that think they can get away with serving poor quality food to customers... We won't be back until we hear there are NEW owners doing a MUCH better job -if ever. ———— UPDATE Can’t wait to go back. Excellent pizzas, nostalgic music, friendly wait staff! -Limited seating. ———— UPDATE: Aug. 2023, crusts were not fully cooked, and salads were decidedly “pre-made” & poor.
(We also recommend alerting guests to the amount of onion in salads.)
I hope management reminds staff that brief eye contact and a quick smile go a long way in making customers feel welcome. Though customer service was not bad.
Also missed the 70’s/80’s music playing while...
Read moreI grew up in staples and have always loved tower pizza. We had decided to stop in and meet up with some friends on our way to a prior engagement. We arrived at 5pm and there was no one else in the restaurant. Knowing that we wanted to leave by 6 to get where we needed to go we put our order in immediately of 2 medium pizzas and a calzone. About 15 minutes after we placed our order 3 other groups of people had entered the restaurant. We watched the waitress take their orders as we patiently waited for our food. At about 5:45 orders started to come out of the kitchen and every table received their food but ours. I waited another 5 minutes before going up and asking if they had even put in our order. She said it will be out in a minute. I asked if I could pay for our she could put mine in a box because I have somewhere I needed to be. At 6:15 she finally came over to the table with our food and she did not apologize for the wait or offer any kind of compensation for the inconvenience. For spending $40 on food I would have rather gone someplace cheaper with better service. Now I know better than to stop when I have...
