We used Blue Line BBQ to cater my dad’s 60th/retirement party back in June of 2024. The party was big, around 150 people. I spoke with the owner when booking the date and he was super nice and helped me figured out just what I’d need. I placed my order, which included 4 meats and 5 sides, rolls, drinks and such it came out to be around $32 a plate (do the math). When setting up the reservation with him I let him know we would need all cutlery and we wanted it served. The day came. As anyone who is throwing a huge party you’re all over the place. We had tables and tents set up for the food. The food had arrived, problem was they weren’t prepared. The owners parents had come to set up to help their son who owns the business and couldn’t be there. They were the kindest of people, absolutely nothing unpleasant to say about ANYONE who worked for / helped / owns Blune line BBQ. Unfortunately, they didn’t have everything that we had paid for and had to go and make a trip back out for the items plus the necessary items to keep the food at a safe temperature. About an hour or so after the party started the food was ready for the guest, and the food was GREAT, only problem was there was no one to serve. And when I spoke to the representative's that were there I asked if they were staying to serve and they said they were unaware of having serve. In the end we did not get the servers as discussed in the original conversation. There was myself and one other person throwing this party with 150 guests, with 4 other vendors attending and we couldn’t just watch over the food while guest serve themselves. About 30 minutes in as a guest has started to serve themselves I noticed the food supply was dwindling quickly. In the end, we unfortunately ran out of food, And the part that I couldn’t understand was was that not all 150 guest had arrived and we were already out of food. When I called and spoke with the owner, he said that he had actually sent extra in my opinion and many others opinion who were there there was no extra everybody loved the food and raved about it, but it was the supply that was there. At $32 a plate I expected everybody to Get some of everything that was offered. We ended up having to go to a local restaurant and get more food for the evening on top of what we already spent to Blue line BBQ. The owner did end up refunding us about $100 but that was nowhere close to what we had to spend extra on food for the party. I would definitely recommend blue line barbecue for maybe some in-house dining because the food was great and the people are great but I just don’t think that they’re ready for large...
Read moreMade a quick drive from Orange Park for some the best BBQ I've had in a long time. I went with the 2 meat and 2 side option to tackle my hunger. Pulled pork, brisket, baked beans and potato salad. Ordering was quick and easy, the young lady took my name and I got my cup and found a seat and waited for my platter of flavor to arrive. I got my tea and sat down. I must say I was somewhat disappointed with the tea it was not really sweet , for me when having BBQ I want to be sent into a diabetic shock from the tea. There was also lemonade so with a splash of that in the tea I was happy. My food was delivered to the table an wow, the portions of meat is a lot. I started the tasting with the potato salad. I love potatoe salad and theirs is a hit very creamy with little pieces of cheese very good. The baked beans are very good with great flavor. Pulled pork was cooked to perfection with lots of flavor I added a hint of BBQ sauce for that extra hit of goodness. Now the star of the plate, OMG their brisket is the bomb first of all it was cut to just the right thickness it was perfect. The fat line running across the top of the meat and the flavor of the smoke wow. It was tender an moist, the pit master knows what they are doing and they made some Great food. I will definitely be back for more BBQ. I hope they have corn nuggets next time, I was ready for some and none on the menu this visit. I didn't see any desert on the menu then again the distraction of the meat being cut beside me was a probably the reason. Bannana pudding after BBQ is great... just saying hint hint Thanks for a great lunch it was my birthday present to me and...
Read moreWe had eaten with matt numerous times before we decided to use him to cater our wedding. We discussed 10 months prior our expectations and menu, gave a deposit, spoke again 3 months before, and 3 days before our wedding to set super clear expectations, menu, and head count. Matt said it would not be a problem. Come our wedding day he did NOT fulfill his obligations. He ran out of food, did not serve the menu we discussed in person and in writing, did not have serving staff we both agreed on and paid for. We had 20 less people show up than we paid for, and he ran out of food before half of the crowd had been served. Now running out of food on your wedding is terrible enough due to poor planning, lack of preparation, etc, but the food that was served was subpar to any BBQ standards. We have had great meals with Matt, but my meal as well as others was inedible. Brisket was cold, tough, flavorless, and small. He at no point saw any issue with his performance. When we asked Matt what happened he saw no problem with how he executed this catering event. We are sharing this review to warn others to STAY AWAY from this establishment for any catering. He was not prepared, had no plan, and ran out of food. We can all disagree on what good BBQ or any food is, but you can’t dispute the fact that he ran out of food for our wedding. The most important day of our lives. He as of the time of this posting has offered minimal financial ramifications to attempt to rectify the situation. Again, he sees no problem with his catering execution. We will not be supporting this establishment and encourage others to think twice before supporting...
