LinGui Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Starke

My Dad is 71 years old and disabled and unable to go out him self so he called my wife and had her pick up his food. When she brought his food home he realized that it was the wrong order, he ordered the General TSO chicken and he got shrimp instead. He ate the food but was still upset that he did not get what he ordered. They told him that they would replace his meal but charge him half price for the meal that they they messed up. I explained they should not charge him, they should fix their mistake. I explained that it was late and we did not bring it back because of the time. She said because he ate the food they would not replace the meal. She said that he should have not eaten it ( go without dinner , it what she insinuated) brought the food back the next day , they would have thrown it in the garbage and then replaced his meal in full... They used the excuse that he had shrimp and got a better deal ( their opinion) , I explained it wasn’t the better deal because it wasn’t what he ordered. They said they would replace it with a smaller portion. So tonight my wife placed a order with them and we were planning on getting my dads order, I just canceled everything and figured there are more Chinese Restaurants out there and we could go without tonight. I will never eat there again. We have had problems with other places in the past ie. Popeyes, Hardee’s , BK, and they have always replaced the order because it was their mistake. Theses people are stingy and only care about how much money they make. Well you refused to replace 1 order that cost about $11.00 , and lost an order that would have given you about $40 and all orders from me in the future... Hate to sack a place. Called in an order. Customer service was poor. She hung up when I asked for the total. She said fifteen minutes on the phone. I got there in 20. The cook started my order when I walked in and asked for it. I asked for some mustard she gave me two packs. I asked for more she gave me one. The food. Chicken in the fried rice was from a can. You can taste the water soaked into the chicken.. General toas was mainly breading with a little little piece of meat. Now I know why they have a sign that says no refund. But to call this ethnic is an insult to Chinese food makers everywhere. This is like making five-star meals with the dollar tree food. The worst part is it left the worst taste in my mouth. Even now I taste it.

update I never asked for a refund. When I have bad food. I write a review warning innocent people who have not yet been tainted. I never spend my money there again. Since when is mustard on for egg rolls? Goes to show how your service is. Being stingy is bad for business.

My mom and I come here every time we're going back to Jacksonville from Gainesville.

This is the best place to stop in Starke for food. My mom loves the shrimp in garlic sauce and I really enjoy the tofu in garlic sauce or General Tso's tofu or the tofu in brown sauce. All of it is delicious! And the portions are very generous!

Just a side - they get pretty busy during their lunch and dinner time hours because all of the locals call in takeout so calling your food in ahead or be willing to wait during peak times is ideal.

I always choose to eat inside the restaurant so it's always worth the wait. This place is family owned and I love to support local.

The owners are really nice and the flavors of the food are exceptional. Everything is made to order, fresh, and reasonably priced with generous portions.

Again, if you're in the area do not miss out on this little gem located in a strip mall in the center of town. Absolutely...
