DS Nails — Local services in Starke

This was my first time at this location: I asked for a manicure & pedicure with gel color. My nail tech was a much older gentleman with glasses. He filed with a drill and shaped my nails with a nail File asked me to wash my hands off and then proceeded to apply base coat and color. I had to ask him to please remove my cuticles with a cuticle nipper as I’ve always gotten as previous places when getting a manicure. He only cut a few and left a lot of lifted cuticles, he did not push back my cuticles he did not clean under nails he did not soak my fingers. After curing my finger color, He asked me if there was anything else I pointed to my toes and said a pedicure with same color please . He took me to the pedicure chair. He proceeded with the same routine- he filed off my previous gel color he buffed filed my nails he RINSED off my toes and then began to apply base coat and color. He did not scrub the bottom Of my feet no hot towel nothing ! . I’m looking around and saw the other nail techs fill their bowls with water cut with a clipper their clients toe nails push back cuticles and and scrub their clients feet apply oil and massage they offer water and soap to their people ….. my nail tech did nothing like the other people around me. Once he was finished painting and curing he put on my shoes and said all done ! I said I’m done??? My service was 45 mins for both applications. He walked me to the register and charged me $50 for fingers & toes. I asked what are you charging me for exactly and he said $25 pointed to my hands and $25 and pointed to my toes. He asked me serval Times if I would like to leave a tip. I said no as I did clearly NOT receive the same type of service as everyone else in the nail salon. Went today and the owners might do a good job but they really only care about the money. Make a long story short. While my mom, my 90 year old grandmother and myself with my service dog went to sit down another lady sitting there waiting( age was between 17 and 21). She had two little girls sitting with her around 8-14 years of age. As I walked by she threatened to kick my service dog. My dog did nothing to her. I ignored her but she told the younger girls she better keep that dog away from me or I will kick it. At this point we were already by. I told her the dog is a service dog and that would be a bad idea because it is protected by the federal government. She said I don’t care I will kick it if you come near me. I said how about I call the police because you can’t do that. She said call them I still kick it, so I left called the police and the owners did nothing. The officer went in and the girl lied. He told everyone inside that it was against the law to harm a service dog. The owners still did nothing. He came outside and told me the girl lied and the owners act like they don’t care. After the officer left I was standing out side. Before I left the young girl came out on the phone cursing on the phone and said of course I lied I’m not going to jail for some stupid dog. Her mother came and had a bad attitude. The police officer drove over to our car and he told us about another place so we went there. Funny thing is the police officer apologized for her actions and wished he could do more. Turned out the people were nicer, did a much better job. The place is Lee Nails next Windixi. So I served my country just to have my service dog threatened by a young punk who has no respect for anything and feels entitled. She also disrespected my mother and my 90 year old grandmother. DS Nails... I've heard the phrase 3rd times a charm... NOT I stopped coming to DS about 6 months ago because of 2 occasions of rude unsatisfactory attitudes & services...

RUDENESS IS UNACCEPTABLE... I'M A PAYING CUSTOMER & YOUR NOT DOING ME A FAVOR YOUR PROVIDING A SERVICE...

INCIDENT 1. Simple manicure that cute my finger deep and it bled badly. Lady Owner said that's expected with a manicure...

INCIDENT 2. Walk in door sat for 10 minutes, no hello, no how can I help, I asked how long is wait...

TODAY: 3RD time, So this is absolutely MY FAULT....

FIGURED I'D GIVE THEM ANOTHER SHOT...

Nail Tech Sue, files my nail crooked... I spoke quietly & calmy...

*Me: honey, I don't like the shape & half of the nail filed off... *Sue: You came in here with it like that ... Me: No my nail wasn't crooked like that *Sue: oh Yes it was, you had a hang nail and I had to file it down *Me: I'm not going to beg you & you be rude *Sue: I wasn't rude, Sue turns to the entire store and says did anyone see me be rude... *Me: stop right there I do not need anything else from you *Sue: Well you still gotta pay *Me: And how much so I pay Sue 23.00..

I spoke to the Owner Dan & explained when you run a business and provide services... The customer has the right to say when a service is unsatisfactory or needs to be corrected.... At a Nail salon half a nail filled off is unacceptable... Then your employees are rude as if your the only nail salon in the World....

DS Nail Salon is very unprofessional and their attitude isn't Customer Satisfaction...
