Village Inn Pizza Westpark Shopping Center — Restaurant in Statesville

I've been eating at Village Inn since I was a child - I grew up in Statesville and it's always been my favorite pizza IN THE WORLD - As a child I had birthday parties in the lower level of the original Newtowne location before they remodeled it into a dining area-

When I make a trip home I actually start looking forward to hitting the buffet about a week before the trip- This last trip was disgraceful-

I have been going to VIP longer than the crew working in Statesville West that day have been alive -

For one I stood at the register trying to order for a good 2 minutes ALONE before being acknowledged - Once eye contact was made the 4 crew members looked at each other like they were annoyed and were deciding on who would have to draw the short straw and take my order-

I ordered a bottled beer - once they rounded it up it was room temperature - so much for that-

The salad bar area was fine and stocked up - but a lot of the tables were "closed" and several hadn't been bussed and they were not slammed busy-

The pizza area was another story - it had been neglected - hours old pizza out that was dry under the lights - I had time to finish my hot beer before they even brought 2 fresh pizzas out and they weren't fully cooked - apart from being undercooked the clincher was eating a slice of pepperoni/sausage that was EXTRA salty but the crust had a tinge of cinnamon flavor - so either things are messy and mixed up in the kitchen or they are reusing pans without cleaning them - which is disgusting-

In the end it was sad and depressing and I was $14 poorer - not many things from your childhood are the same but Village Inn has always been consistent - This is NOT the way Ray Lackey ran his businesses and I hope someone in management will see this and address the issue - I've told people for years "if you are ever in Statesville you have to go to this place" -I hope that I can do that again...

I am not one to write reviews, I usually just let things go and figure it is just a bad day. Today service was terrible along with the pizza being terrible as well. We were there for about 45 minutes and during that time they only brought out 2 pizzas. One was a dessert and the other all meat, and to top it off they both were burnt. When I went to let them know that I was disappointed that there pizza was cold and they had not brought any fresh pizza out they told me it was my fault. They said I should have told them to make some fresh ones when I ordered, i have ate at village inn pizza for about 20 years and I have never been told that. They usually ask if there is something special that you want but to be told if I want pizza of any kind on the buffet I need to tell them. I'm sorry I thought I told you that when I paid for the buffet. As I was trying to talk to someone they went and grabbed everything that was left on the buffet and threw it away before I could take a picture of how bad it was. There was no offer by management to fix anything just that it was my fault that there pizza was cold. I would recommend that everyone stay away until management can get things worked out unless you like throwing away your money on cold, burnt pizza and then being told that it...

Will not be back at all!! Have been going to this pizza parlor since it opened. I am 48 so that should tell you something about the decline in the service and the food. We waited over an hour for pizza and never saw the pizza that we requested. We watched and got to listen to the employees talk and fuss at each other there was no manager on duty that night. They brought 2 pizzas out for 8 guests not including us, did not remove the old cold pizza that had been sitting there for hours. So needless to say we paid over 30.00 for salad and my nephews cheese bread. We watched as to go orders were wrong and people had to come back. One gentleman had to come in and check on his order 4 times and each time he was told it is almost ready he finally said forget it and went to Subway. When I did call the next day and speak to the manager she said she had already gotten calls about the night before and offered us our meal free. Ok no problem I call today going to give them another try she tells me I told you very hateful you had a week to get it. No she did not.
