What can I say. I moved to Steilly a year ago. I knew nobody. I stumbled upon Topside one day. Then went the second time...and they remembered my name and welcomed me with a HUGE smile. They actually asked about my day, and seemed to be sincere. The more I went, the more I realized..they are. They became a bit of a highlight of my day. And over time, I realized what a highlight of many people's day they are.
And the freaking coffee is stinking outstanding! Then (DAMN THEM!) their house made (from SCRATCH) blueberry muffins were the death of my hips! (hahahaa!) Oh, let me tell you WHAT!!! Get that, and get it warmed. Oh LORT!
Over time, these ladies have all become close friends, so I can say honestly that when they talk to guests, it is because they genuinely care about getting to know you and creating relationships.
I am a wedding photographer and hold many meetings there. Every single one of my clients falls in love with the shop. It's the entire package! There are the sweet regulars whom everyone just adores, and they come meet my clients and welcome them. This place is like a home where everyone feels welcome and invited.
If you want delicious coffee, and ACTUAL HOME BAKED treat, as in, SCRATCH MADE by ladies who love their job, love the guests, and take time to get to know people, THIS is the place! LOVE IT!!!!
The coffee is AMAZINGLY delicious. The gals are so sweet. Grab a seat, get on beach time, talk to others. You are welcome there!
I see a recent not so kind review and must rebutt, and will state openly it is because I have come to know these gals and their work ethic. Come see for yourself. :) It's pretty...
Read moreHas Topside Coffee Cabin changed hands? Serious question. It was like visiting a whole different place. After two previous stellar visits, we came again from Key Peninsula to treat ourselves ~ and were very disappointed. Empty baskets, only 1 kind of cookie, 1 kind of muffin, except for one straggler only 1 kind of scone, 1 pastry. Out of any but veggie breakfast burritos or breakfast sandwiches. At 10 am on a Sunday. They were out of metal forks so said to take a plastic fork (out of those also) water container empty. my friend’s quiche and the coffees came up, was waiting for my warmed scone, finally went to ask, they forgot it. Desultory service. Way less merch which used to be so well curated and fun… a fly problem. The coffee drinks themselves were good, the scone was good, the quiche was okay… but if this had been our first time, we’d never go back, and now I really hesitate. This didn’t seem like a WOW we were SO BUSY shortage (and they weren’t, the whole time we were there, also weird.) It seemed like either poor planning or a reduced offering. Health code had been downgraded to...
Read moreI had to edit my previous five star review as, unfortunately, the service quality has substantially decreased as of late. My family ordered one scone, one toasted bagel, and two lattes; this order took 18 minutes to arrive at our table, the bagel was barely toasted, the scone was cold, and both drinks were watered down. As a bonus we got to watch four more groups of customers come in and get served their food and drinks while we waited and were regaled with stories of the brunette employees ex boyfriend's cooking abilities and how sick she felt after she ate last night. There was an elderly couple who ordered soup and drinks directly before us and were still waiting when our orders finally arrived. No apologies were offered, in fact when I inquired about my daughter's bagel the blonde employee just said, "Yeah its still toasting." Toasting for nearly twenty minutes and yet still lightly toasted....fascinating. Absolutely unacceptable customer service, easily the worst I've experienced in my years as a regular customer here. The new employees need to either be...
