Johnny's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Sterling

Went to Johnny’s twice in the three days I was in the Sterling/Rock Falls area. The first time I went there were some older gentleman at the bar who assumed I was picking up a DoorDash order, which is ironic because I DoorDash back home, but I of course told the bartenders I wasn’t there for that, I was there as a customer. I tried a Cherry Bomb Blonde for the first time, and after that time that just became my go to beer. Also I’ve never had cherries in my beer before so that was new too. They had plenty of food and drink choices and I was definitely full afterwards so got my money’s worth of food for sure. I lead a pretty dull life - I don't go out much. However, when I do, Johnny's Bar & Grill is one of my favorites. The food and service are great. The prices are very reasonable. The staff all the way from Johnny down to the wait staff are concerned, friendly, and devoted to their customers. The place is very family friendly. The atmosphere is great. I can't think of a single deficiency. I would also note that when Johnny took over this place, it was a real "s...hole" and a place where drugs and a sketchy clientele made the place a problem. Sometimes your server is in a good mood. Sometimes they're no, my last server was very racist towards African Americans which is pretty sad that's she feels that way and that she has a person to person job. Sometimes the owner is walking around yelling and other times he's not. Not sure what's going on with cheese inflation but they raised their cheese fry prices a dollar, so you get a medium size basket with some canned cheese for almost 4 dollars with nothing else.
