The Fish House — Restaurant in Sterlington

Let me have your attention for a few minutes to explain to you why this is where you're eating tonight. Just..wow. So this is my first time eating Fish House. A few co-workers and I ordered to bring back to work. I haven't been inside, but y'all, this food is great! I got the grilled chicken tenders with a baked potato and turnip greens. What I ended up with is 4 tender, juicy & well seasoned tenders with a perfectly cooked, two hush puppies (not cornbread sticks), a hot baked potato, greens in a foam cup so it doesn't slosh around in my plate in transit and two cups of this cajun, spicy aioli. I also got the fixings for my potato, ketchup and knife/fork. There is no need for ketchup. This aioli is the best. I'm impressed that the food was HOT, freshly cooked, packed well for take-out and supplied with all the items I'd need to enjoy my meal. If I had to be picky about anything, I suspect the greens came from a can. I'm not a hate-monger for using canned goods, but these greens are in season. I'd love to see them sourced locally. Otherwise, if I'm in the area looking for food, you'll never find me going anywhere else ever again. Not while the Fish House is open & churning out this...

The Fish House serves local / Cajun cooking and is located just north of Monroe, in Sterlington (just south of the Frenchman's Bend exit on the highway). This place is always busy and you can typically expect a short wait for a table, but it is well worth the wait. The food is always hot and fresh, and good tasting too. Their prices are very reasonable for what you get. They have good fried fish, some of the best around. I typically get a grilled fish sandwich with a jalapeno bun and jambalaya on the side. The bun makes it, I recommend the jalapeno bun upgrade. My son usually gets the chicken strips & they are pretty good also. I have had their grid fish too, it is very good also. I have never had anything that was not good or that I thought was unsatisfactory in any way. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. Definitely worth the drive...

Have been eating here for quite sometime but had an issue my food not being fresh & told them it wasn’t they took the food put it back under the light & gave me more I took it but it wasn’t hot either due to I held it in with two fingers & it obviously didn’t burn at all bc it wasn’t hot, bit it was full of grease . I went back told little girl I don’t want it and she came back to window & said it is as fresh as it’s going to get. I was baffled by this behavior. I advised her to give me my money back. She then thought I was blonde to except a gift card, lol. No kid give me my money bc I surely won’t return!
