Absolutely an amazing place you must try! I highly recommend coming here if your in the mood for Italian food, over any other place. Plus you will be supporting a LOCALY OWNED FAMILY business, which has been going since 1923(98 years old!)!! What business today is still family owned, let alone for four generations, specially a restaurant!?
Food: I had the veal parmigiana with a side of spaghetti with mushroom tomato sauce on it. Yes you can get spaghetti with sauce as your side, just ask. If you like veal I highly recommend coming here, they have five different veal dishes. My veal was a huge piece, and actually a good thickness. Most of the time theyâre small and really thin. The veal had this sherry wine tomato sauce on it, that was so amazing. I love to buy just that sherry wine tomato sauce. Also I dont know if they baked the bread fresh in house, or if they brought it fresh. But it was clearly fresh and yummy!
Pros: Everything! Its really nice inside and you can sit anywhere you want. I have to say the best part of this place besides the food is the server. Not sure the name of the place who waited on us, but she was an older lady. Best server I have had! She was super attentive and nice! She kept bringing us out drinks before we even needed one, she even bagged up my leftovers without me asking.
Cons: For once I have nothing to say. The only thing I can even think of is their mushroom tomato sauce is a little bit too watery for me, but thatâs entirely a personal preference. I would also like a tomato sauce with a little bit more cheese and garlic, but again entirely...
Read moreI went to Steubenville for their Nutcracker Village and to check out the Christmas parade. The place we set up to watch the parade was near this restaurant. As the parade wound down, we (and many other parade attendees) had the brilliant idea to have some lunch from here. It was packed, and we didn't have a reservation, but they were still understanding. We were a party of 3 and got seated as quickly as possible. The place is over 100 years old, and is very charming. The entire staff was warm and friendly. Despite the rush and packed house, they were still on top of things. Our waitress was incredibly sweet, but the fact that everyone on staff was working as a team due to the influx of diners was impressive. The food at this place was next level. I wish I had taken more photos, but we were all hungry from the drive and the parade, so we were digging in pretty quick. We shared an appetizer that had fried mushrooms, as well as fried zucchini and cauliflower. I had the stuffed shells with the mushroom marinara sauce and it was so delicious! I couldn't finish it all, so took the rest to the hotel and had it later that evening. For the appetizer, 3 entrees, and 3 drinks, it was around $80 and worth every penny. I highly recommend checking this place out, even if you aren't in the area. It's...
Read moreNaples in Steubenville, Ohio, has been my favorite Italian restaurant for fifty years. Since I was a youngster, my parents would bring me to this quaint spot to eat. Now at age 62, I still love dining here. My lovely bride, Betty, and I dined here this evening and had a great time reuniting with a long-time server friend, Phyllis, who has worked at Naples for decades. The food is always delicious, fresh, and hot here. The service is always friendly, and they make you feel right at home. Tonight I had my favorite Veal Parmesan and Cole Slaw with a Honeymoon Salad, as Betty calls it. I don't like all the junk people put on a salad, so I asked Phyllis to make mine special. She was happy to accommodate me. The meal took a while, but this can be expected because it was prepared to order and fresh. Naples prepares authentic Italian Cuisine, and you cannot rush a great Chef. The meal was perfect. Phyllis checked on us several times during the visit to make sure all was well. The atmosphere of Naples is very family-oriented, friendly, and inviting. I would recommend you try it; I guarantee you will love it! Please enjoy the photos I provided of my meal, including the salad and the photo of Betty and Phyllis. Ciao!
