Romeo's Italian Kitchen — Restaurant in Stevensville

This night was a Stevensville Yellowjackets and Booster Club fund raiser for the New Athletic Performance Center at the High school. The owners of Romeo's were donating 15% from your total and the Booster club was matching the donations. Romeo's was extra busy with a good percentage of patrons giving Community support. Romeos is located on the south end of Stevensville on west side of street just past the US Post office. Very well marked with signage. Parking is on the street or to the south of the building. The entrance is on the street front. We had made reservations for 6 PM and were placed in a very cozy well decorated booth with a trellis over the booth and a very warm and comfortable decor. The staff was very efficient, courteous and attentive to our needs. There are photos of the menu's, beverages included non-alcoholic and wines, a few beer selections, appetizers, main entrees and desserts. We got our order in and salads were right out. By this time the rush was upon them. Never once did I note a stumble or confusion. Very professional and coordinated. Delayne Johnson the proprietor, wasn't one to stand around, hustle hustle, hustle, smooth as a fine tuned watch. Our main entrees consisted of, Garlic shrimp caesar salad, Garlic roasted salmon, Spaghetti and meatballs, Steak and Garlic shrimp Alfredo. All quite delicious with ample servings. With three to go boxes needed for leftovers. A really enjoyable experience in all. Food prices were quite affordable and consistent with competitors. Let's be honest, usually Italian in a small town consists of overcooked pasta, french bread with parmesan, and runny sauce. I've lived in the area for several years now and avoided this place because I figured it would be the same story.

In this case I was plain wrong. We stopped in on a weeknight for dinner (with 3 small kids in tow). The summary of my experience is as follows:

The decor is very well done, the seating is comfortable and the place seemed clean and in good repair. Lots of plants added to the look, and it was done tastefully. Of note - all of the flatware and glasses were clean.

The waitress was very nice and got us a table quickly. There was only one other party in the place, but we got there an hour before they closed.

The menu wasn't overly eclectic, just Italian basics and a few specialties. This is a good thing. Kids choices were great, and kids meals come with dessert. The pricing was pretty reasonable for what we got, although this is probably more of a "date night" place than a "Mom doesn't feel like cooking night" kind of place.

The food was well presented, portioned generously, and tasted great. The marina had some actual flavor to it unlike many bland Italian dishes I've tried at other places. The tiramisu was rich and creamy, though I prefer it with a little more coffee. That's just me though.

I dined in for lunch, I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with the steak. The steak is not your typical steak. Not one that is sliced, grilled and thrown on top. No. Romeos is a very unique style of marinated steak, crumbled on top of the dish, with a basket of breadsticks. It is a very different dish, and different is a VERY GOOD THING in this situation!!

My Steak Fettuccine Alfredo had more flavor & pizzaz that 98% of the Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to, in my 36 years of living! I have a saved this particular restaurant as a favorite and I will be back!! 🧡

Michele was exceptional at her job, she went above and beyond with all of my inquiries. She always had an intelligent answer for all of my curious questions. It’s nice to come across someone who knows what they doing and enjoys their job. Not to mention she can give me truthful answers, and still handle the rest of the customers & their orders with ease. She needs a raise & a vacation!

For dessert: I topped it all of with a divine slice of Capri lime cheesecake. If you expect a over-sweet cheesecake, you have not tried this one! It has a smooth creamy texture, with a slight tart (lime) with a pinch of salted hint that goes ever so well with the lime throughout the cheesecake. It is a must try, hands down!
