If you are interested in overpriced, mid food, missing items from your order and terrible customer service, look no further, this restaurant is for you. I am a believer of second chances, and yesterday, I gave Bar 42 a second chance- the first time I ordered, my side dish was wrong, but no biggie- things happen.
Yesterday could have been another âno biggieâ situation but when I called to ask about an item being left off of my order, I was met with unprofessional tone, a bad attitude, irritation and disbelief. The hostess on the other end of the phone line faulted me for not reviewing my order and said, âwell why didnât you check the bag for the correct food before you leftâ- mind you she stapled the bags shut. In my head I'm thinking, itâs not my job to be a manager and review your work ESPECIALLY since there was no one else ordering food in the restaurant- this was a slow night.
Iâm a reasonable person, if this was an overly busy evening for the restaurant or if they were severely understaffed- I'd totally get it, but that wasn't the case. What I donât get is the attitude of arrogance and incompetence coming from the hostess when I called. After going back and forth over the phone thinking maybe the hostess would extend an apology, a discount or some sort of charge back to the credit card she says: âwell you will have to come back to the store- you could be anyone callingâ- mind you, I preordered the meals online and tipped in advance in good faith, so again the ignorance and rudeness was baffling. I could see this conversation was going left and before hanging up the phone, I said, âwell this will be the last time I order from here, to which the hostess replies, âand thatâs fineâ.
After spending over $50 multiple times on below average food and abysmal customer service I urge you to go to one of the hundreds of other restaurants in the area. A few that come to mind: LinQ, Sweet Sadie Mae's, or Freddie Mac's, these restaurants have excellent food, quality service, zero disrespect, and you will get the food you paid for the first time. I've decided I'm not spending money with businesses that can't at least offer an "I'm sorry" when they drop the ball... ha- "and that's fine".

Read moreWeâve visited twice. First, during the grand opening and again on Motherâs Day (brunch). Iâll start by saying itâs a beautiful restaurant. The ambiance is amazing! The restrooms are clean and provide somewhat of a grandiose home-like feeling. The music is not too loud and the musical selections are perfect! During grand opening weekend we sat at the bar and enjoyed some tasty cocktails, the best burger Iâve ever had, and some decent wings and fries. The electric hookah was superb! The bartender was energetic and exciting.
The second visit on Motherâs Day was not as good. We sat at a table. It wasnât really crowded. The server was super nice but seemed a bit overwhelmed. She would often come to our table to take our order with dirty plates in her hands that sheâd gathered from another table. We ordered calamari and the crab cake for appetizers. When it arrived, we couldnât eat it right away because we didnât have utensils. We asked for it though. I get it, she was the only server with 3 or 4 tables (one large party). Both appetizers were just okay. We had mimosas - a perfect blend of orange juice and bubbles. I ordered another appetizer: some wings and a hookah. The hookah never came and the wings were a bit undercooked. As it started to get busier with more large parties arriving, we decided that it would be best to leave since the server was already a bit overwhelmed. I didnât want another disappointment so we just left and went to a different restaurant.
Overall, this place has a lot of potential. The look and feel is nicer than most of the other places in the area. I wanted to try a few of the entrees on the menu but opted to leave.
This place is definitely an option for anyone who wants to dine in the area and not travel to the city of Atlanta or Peachtree City. Because I no longer live on this side of town - itâs not a repeat option for me. There was no wow factor that would make me take the trip. I wish them success and commend the owner for trying to bring a better dining experience...
Read moreTHIS PLACE!!! On 42?!?! south Moreland?! Clayton County?! I thought I stepped into a midtown restaurant!
I was definitely transported when I walked in. This place is elevated and made for those looking for a vibe not too far from the house. The ambiance is EVERYTHING! It is clear that the owner, G, really put money into making this place look amazing. From marble floors to ambient lighting and plush seating, the look is elevated from the normal look of Clayton County spots. The drinks were good and for a great price (at happy hour). And the food match. I was shocked by the flavorful dishes from the deliciously fried wings (10 for $5 at happy hour) to the mashed potatoes. Everything was well cooked, from a chef with experience is several international locations. I had the wings and salmon. Also I tried the Margarita Flight and glass of Chardonnay (yes I got down). And all of it was delicious. By the time I finished my dinner, the phenomenal DJ (@igotthajuic3) came in and continued the party. Initially the vibe was chill but he turned it up with GOOD MUSIC not this hood stuff thatâs on the radio now (no offense butâŠ). Best of all, my waitress Tatianna was attentive, personable, friendly, helpful, and just great overall! I WILL be back consistently. Oh yeah. I ordered a hookah which was free that night and it was electric. Pulled really well and had a really strong flavor.
ONLY change is the salt in the seasoning for the older diabetics. By the end of the night, the music was at club level so⊠I had to go lol. But I look forward to making this a...
