Mr brother and I decided to try the food here for the first time since our usual place Kabob and Gyro House in downtown stockton closed at 7 and doesn't open on weekends. We placed an order online at 6:52pm and we arrived around 7:40pm to pick up the order which said it would be ready 7:14-7:30. When we arrived I told them I was there to pick up an online order and they seemed confused. I let them know that I had ordered through yelp/grubhub, they checked their iPad and then told me my order wasn't ready yet.
I don't think they had any of my order ready and barely started to cook everything after I had arrived. This might not have been their fault but perhaps they weren't paying attention to online orders coming in. This wasn't a huge deal as we weren't in a hurry but I was surprised they hadn't made an order that was placed 40mins ago and the place wasn't even busy. It was almost closing time so I was a bit concerned and hoped that they still had enough fresh ingredients for my order.
When I got home I joked to my family that I hope they cooked everything thoroughly because they had to make everything quickly before closing time. About 3 hours after eating the food I started to get a painful stomach ache and then threw up about five times. I'm pretty sure this food made me sick or gave me food poisoning because it was the only thing I had eaten for several hours and the only food I actually threw up.
The whole ordering experience and ordeal after eating the food and getting sick forces me to give Go Falafel one star. The food itself didn't taste too bad although the portions were a bit overpriced for what you get.
For example the gyro wrap that I got had one piece of tomato, a ton of lettuce and a few strands of meat. Definitely not worth it for the $9 they charge for this item. The usual place i go to charges around $7 for the same item but they put a lot more meat, other veggies and don't stuff it full of mainly lettuce.
I also thought the kabob combo platter was disappointing as they only put like 2 pieces of each meat and the majority of the platter was humus, tzatziki sauce, and a salad. The lettuce in the salad was bitter and the humus was really watery, I'm not sure if they watered it down or what but all the humus I've eaten is usually a bit thicker consistency.
I will never be returning here and will instead be going to Kabob and Gyro House even if I have to wait since they close earlier and on weekends. The quality, hospitality and price at Kabob and Gyro House is so much better and you can even see them cooking your food fresh so you know it's made to order...
Read moreThe lady at the front counter looked like she wanted to spit in my face. I had come in after a long day of work. My mind may have been a little absent at the time but it is no excuse. I had ordered the pap stavro fries and it is supposed to come with an option of protien. A choice between beef schwarma, another choice that is escaping my mind at the moment, or falafel. I was given no option and i paid for my food. They prepared the food fast and i had left with my food. Half way home i had remembered that there was suppoed to be an option on the protein and thought to myself wait..... i opened up my meal while driving to find beef schwarma. So i turned around and headed back to the restaurant in hopes that they would exchange the food. When i got back i had explained to the woman that there was an option on the protein and that even though i did not specify, she did not ask and assumed that defaulting the order to the beef schwarma was acceptable. I explained to her that i am a vegetarian and could not consume the food. She began to tell me that no mistake was made on her end and that even though she did not ask, that the customer needed to specify and that she is not at fault. We're standing there staring at eachother and at this point i say "so even though you are not saying it, i assume you are not going to switch this out and you want me to pay for more food. Is this correct?" To which she replied, well i'll give you a discount. I turned around and said no thank you and started walking towards the door. She started saying louder that she would give me a discount. I just walked out the door while saying "THANK YOU" on the way out. I just don't understand why they couldn't just make the situation right?? I would have come back in another couole weeks and bought more food. The last time i was here i came with my girlfriend and we spent over $20 on food. I would have happily come back tome after time and spent the money. But not after she accused me the way that she did. It's funny there's another review by someone about 6 months before me who had the EXACT SAME ISSUE. With who i can only assume to be the exact same woman. If there is a pattern here and multiple people are saying that the woman was accusing them of messing up and not her, then who is the real problem here?...

Here's our Story;
This review is from January of 2019. I wasn't really writing back then. But I've been inspired since September, 6th of this year. So here goes my review.
So I got this flier about Stockton restaurant week. I checked online and picked out places I was going to take my children.
Asked my youngest Princess if she wanted to come here. She said yeah and threw up the deuce.
Note: There's a reason we (My Children and I) throw up the peace sign. It's our way of approval or really liking something.
I knew what I wanted right off that bat. I wanted a Gyro. Now I attempted to make them (Gyros) at home, but my Gyros end up looking like a Soft Taco, lol. But the Gyro here, was on point. Especially because I threw some fries inside.
My youngest daughter, ordered Chicken Souvlaki with pita bread. Fries and va bottled water. The chicken Souvlaki is like a chicken skewer or kabob. I'm from the hood and we just call it meat on a stick. I loved watching her stuff the pita bread with chicken and fries. We always get creative and mix food together on our plate. I love spending time with my kids.
It's pretty small inside and cozy perfect for a date. Swoon. Bring your boo for a nice one on one.
They do take card and cash. Customer service was pretty good and our food didn't take long.
It was in January and the weather was cold outside and Go Falafel Greek Food hit the spot. Everything always comes together for us. So I did have a memorable moment with my youngest daughter. Good Company And Good Food go hand in hand.
Yes, I'm a fan and definitely be back.
