La Michoacanaās ice cream is top-tier ā no doubt. Rich, flavorful, and they donāt skimp on the scoops. But everything else about the experience left me frustrated.
Letās start with the portions. For $4, the small cup comes with nearly two full scoops ā but only if you choose one flavor. Ask for a second flavor? Instead of splitting the scoops in the same cup, they give you a separate small plastic cup, charge you extra, and serve nearly the same amount ā sometimes even less. It feels like you're paying a penalty just for wanting variety.
Now the service ā this is where it really drops off. Thereās no consistency. If you walk in with a group, youād expect your order to come out at the same time. Nope. Youāre made to stand there waiting until you pay, while other customers ā sometimes right after you ā are handed their ice cream before even touching the register. Itās like they pick and choose who gets VIP treatment. That kind of selective service makes it hard to ignore who gets prioritized and who doesnāt.
On top of that, thereās no pricing listed anywhere. No digital screens, no boards, no breakdowns. You're left guessing what you'll owe until you're at the register ā and by that time, youāre already locked in.
This place could be a 5-star spot. The product deserves it. But the way they handle service, portioning, and transparency needs serious improvement. Itās not just about taste ā itās about respect for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you happen to go, please I advise you to observe how they handle your icecream or drinks.
I went in to get a fruitas Fresca with light ice. While my husband and I went to look at the icecream flavors, the lady worker was getting my drink. As I went to check up on her, she was taking ice out with her fingers. She didn't notice me because her back was facing me but as I was talking with my husband she must've heard me and started using the ladle. She quickly finished and I wanted to say something but I don't know why I didn't. She proceeded to get us our icecream cone and she didn't have gloves on and I dont recall if any other shops uses gloves when they scoop icecream but her fingers were touching our icecream. I guess I just didn't want to be rude but that's what I get for not saying anything.
If the store manager or owner see this review I recommend having your workers wear gloves and teach them not to use their bare hands in peoples food or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCome here for the fruit ice creams and paletas - so good! The passionfruit is especially incredible. Very fresh. The non-fruit ice creams aren't my favorite but you can get those other places. I don't love that the prices aren't listed anywhere so you either have to ask the cost of every item or just hope it's reasonable when you get to the register. We've learned that you get more ice cream when you order two single scoops instead of a two-scoop cup, with both orders being essentially the same cost. They also don't have a list of the paleta flavors (which have a lot of overlap with the labeled ice creams but not exactly) so again you have to know already or ask them to recite all...
