Sushi Hub — Restaurant in Stockton

We moved into town not long ago and had tried our luck with various sushi restaurants before finding Sushi Hub this weekend. It was my daughter's birthday and she wanted Japanese food for her birthday dinner celebration. Everything was great. Loved the ambience. Customer service was excellent. Food recommendations were to our liking. My daughter even tried sushi for her third time in her life and actually liked it (she's more of a ramen or chicken katsu kind of teen). To the point that she didn't finish her order but instead ate from our sushi servings. She had a good time and staff made it extra special when she got a live performance birthday song by them (guitar and another instrument include which i can't recall at the moment). Will definitely be going back and recommending this place to family...

Lot of variety, although most rolls have shrimp tempura. Rice on the rolls is s little thicker than I like. Flavor profile on the rolls we had was nice although it seems they rely heavily on their special spicy sauce. The nigiri was big slices and quite fresh. We had a pitcher of Sapporo for $12.99 (during happy hour which was until 6:30 on a Saturday). The only thing disappointing item was the tonkatsu which was dry and tough , although when brought it up at the end of the meal they sent us home with a fresh one which was much better (after the head chef went back and showed the fry cook what to do. They also have a child's menu which was okay (small portions from their bento menu). The teriyaki was good. Almost forgot that they had great miso soup...

We came to Sushi Hub around 5:30 pm and at first it was nice and quiet with just a couple of tables. I had a couple of Sapporo beers, and we started with appetizers such as the the chicken karaage and spicy edamame which was the favorite at our table!! We ordered four rolls and a ramen bowl to share, all fresh and flavorful. Partway through, Ua the owner stopped by to say hello and even let us try one of his new sakes that personal touch really made the meal feel special!!!!
