Hobby Lobby — Local services in Stockton

The selection of basic supplies is decent, but hardly makes up for everything else.

The entire chain refuses to update their inventory and register systems past the 1940s (everything is entered by hand and there are no barcodes for tracking inventory, good luck finding specialty items) this also tends to result in several aisles full of cardboard boxes when they need to restock (which is often).

This particular store is understaffed; long lines and virtually no staff is available to help answer questions or direct you toward items.

And FORGET about finding holiday supplies for anything but Christmas (there is a dedicated Christmas section that is stocked nearly year round, and they NEVER have Halloween decor). The hyper religious atmosphere is off-putting and makes me feel unwelcome in the store. I try to get in and out as fast as possible (which, again, is impossible because of the lines).

It's the most conveniently located craft supply store in the area, which honestly just makes me angry because they've put better stores in the area out of business. Especially because if you want anything special (anything more than solid coloured nylon or cotton fabric, quality fasteners, sewing patterns, quality paints, clay, illustrating markers, etc.) or to get helpful staff knowledgeable in anything other than scrapbooking, you have to drive up to an hour away to a specialty store. More often than not, I go in here and spend half an hour combing through their shelves only to discover that they don't carry what I'm looking for. (And their website inventory doesn't reflect their actual inventory because of the outdated system, so you can't look it up)

That skinny girl with the red hair racially profiles male minorities. Esp. Hispanics. I think she really thinks shes a cop? Today took the cake i had to say something. She followed (from the moment he walked in) a mexican a guy and his family... Didnt act ghetto or suspicious? He had a black backpack , but yet no one told him to not bring it in or to hold it? ... She followed him the entire time he was there and his children. Which is one of the reasons im writting this. When she was caught spying she said ahe followed him because he switch price tags... I said oh damn i feel bad now.... But the tag he switched was for the exact price he paid for the item? He didnt know what she was talking about? He said he mighthave done it not even knowing? But how she told him she was going to call the police? She could make him show his ids like he was illegal? I couldnt believe it... He tried to explain to her why would he were to steal anything why would switch the sticker price tag to pay the same price? Which if you go there often you know those tags fall off all the time. I love hobby lobby, Its a great store. But this lady needs to be replaced... To try and waste Stockton polices time on something so obviously racial... And its not the first time.. I dont normally write reviews like this, but today was too much. I tried to get her name but the se urity would give it to me. Shes skinny with red hair - works for loss prevention - if youre a minority male... Go into hobby lobby with caution and film her spying. It needs to stoo and sge really...

Went there to pick up some fabric and notions. The lady that cut my fabric was very nice. She wrote down exactly how many yards and accommodate me when i added more yards. So why the one star. Well my friend was wait for me up front when i was done ready to check out. And as i aproched the registers i gess you guys have people in the store stocking people to watch them to see if they steel . Well i dont. So finely get to a register and put my stuff on the counter. Abd two bad of m and ms . So this guy startes to get my stuff and looks at the tag and he ask what this i say what what. He pointed to the tag. And i say what. He says this line . I said i dont know. Looks like she crossed one out cause it was a mistake and she inisheld it. Self explanatory. They way he ask me was like as if he was accusing me of doing it. So he counted all my materials and it matched. I dont go to this store but like once a year. . Hobby lobby this is not Arkansas this is calif. You dont treat older customers like that and expect for them to come back. . If he had a question about it he should of ask for management to check it out. Dont know if he was suprized to see that or not. There is no excuse for rudeness. Please train them better im sure he was trained...
