Was not able to visit as the hours on Google were wrong. During the winter they are only open on the weekend with limited hours. Giving five stars because I have heard this historic house is pretty incredible. And as a current employee who works in Antarctica it's always fascinating to learn about the original Antarctic explorers.

What an interesting history of the Captain and his family. The stories and artifacts are fascinating. We came on a busy day, but we still had rooms to ourselves. The volunteers are very knowledgeable. The view from the cupola is great. Admission also includes Lighthouse Museum. Free Parking. gift shop.

The historic house of Captain Nathaniel Palmer in Stonington, Conn. is a museum dedicated to one of the discoverers of Antarctica. It is fully furnished and full of interesting artifacts from the history of Stonington. The museum itself is well maintained. Well worth it if you like maritime history.

We went here following our visit to the Stonington Lighthouse Museum which was included in the ticket for there. When we walked up to the house our group, a group of 8, were the only guests. We walked in 10 of 12 and immediately greeted by June! A bright happy friendly face! We began our tour and all of us, ages 18-75 were hooked and so interested in the history June was telling us. June had a great delivery and truly made our visit so nice! Each room we went into we could talking about the details for hours and we all had questions about some random things in each room and June knew it all!! June was amazing and I am so happy we got to have such a dedicated and passionate tour guide! The house itself is warm and welcoming and interesting and everything is...

I you are in the area, this house is worth a visit even if you are not interested in historic houses. What makes the visit worth while is learning about the history of the Palmer's, as seamen and ex[plorers. The tour is very interesting. Included in the same entrance fee is entrance to the Stoneington Lighthouse and museum. If you only have time for one, the house for me was more interesting. If your a maritime buff, then the other way around. The house is open limited hours, so call or check the...

This was up an unexpected highlight on our Connecticut trip. That was mainly down to the superb introduction to the house and the family by the tour guide June. She totally brought the whole story to life for us. What we thought was just an excuse for a little break on our way back to Boston, ended up being one of the most interesting visits. Thank you. The ticket includes entry to the lighthouse as well, which makes it...
