I am so sorry to have to post a 1 star review to a restaurant that was once iconic to the Stoughton, Canton and Sharon area, as well as all over the South Shore. This restaurant use to be my "go to" Chinese restaurant for many, many years. I cannot tell you how very disappointed I have been, not once, twice, or three times but for many times for take out for about 1 year now. The food has been under/over cooked and a lot smaller portions than before. What was the straw that finally did it for me was calling last night (12/30/2020) to "possibly" put an order in for New Year's Eve since I know how busy that use to get and never had a problem to do this in the past. I was told that I could not order but would have to call the "day of" to place an order. I had tried for, literally, hours to contact Chinatown to place an order only to have the phone keep ringing, ringing, and ringing. Finally when a "voicemail" answered I was told to press #1 and wait for the next available person. I waited, and waited and waited to be then disconnected. Tried again and the same thing was happening. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER had this happened in the years before. I was unable to place ANY order, not to talk to ANY person, etc. I want to thank Chinatown Stoughton for all the years of wonderful service, food and price, and too bad this has changed a lot, but I have found another Chinese Restaurant who answered my call, with a LIVE person, took my order, and the food was and is DELICIOUS....not under or over cooked. I understand by a lot of my neighbors and friends that they have had this same problem since the "son" has taken over the business. Sorry and too bad after all these years this is what this has come to. You are the last business on the strip at Cobbs Corner and, unfortunately, you may be leaving...
Read moreWe live in Sharon, MA. Our delivery options are close to nothing. We have been ordering and eating in at Chinatown for over 20 years! This evening I called for delivery, one of the owners answered. I ordered two Pad Thai plus a combo plate made up by my daughter’s: WHITE rice, beef Teriyaki and an Egg Roll... easy enough right? The lady kept asking me with a condescending attitude from which menu I was ordering? I said for the third time: “she made up her own combo from the back of the menu”. I said just looked at last week ordered or the week before that, she always order the samething, she answered: “I don’t understand anything you are saying.... what ever”! Also this order never cost the same, every week we get new price, I told her. Again she told me: “what ever.” She read the order back, it was wrong! She had fried rice instead of Pad Thais. Order came one hour late cold and my daughter’s orders packed up side down. She ordered WHITE rice, she got PORK rice which she hates. Second week on the road no soy sauce. This place is not cheap either, they also add $3.99 for delivery. I am appalled the way she talked to me, she was arrogant and rude. It is hit or miss who you get on the phone. Almost all of them barely speak English and to make matter worst, they have no patience plus tones of attitude. I realize it is a Chinese restaurant, but perhaps they could hired English speaking to answer the phones. This place got too big and they cannot longer handle the demand. They are not what they used to be. Their food now is just average. I just finished reading people’s reviews here in Yelp, Wow I am surprised they still on business. We are taking our business else where to “Gourmet Garden” we...
Read moreUnder new management!!! I had heard good things but had to try for myself. You walk in and have a great view of the huge kitchen. They are still training but that didn't change the great service. I ate in the bar area. All of the tables were full, that was a good sign. I had the pleasure of talking to Kevin who now runs it. Great guy, very approachable. They have a fantastic lunch menu that you for the most part get to pick the items. Endless combinations. Their Hot and Sour Soup was absolutely delicious! They use an old school recipe that is full of flavor and finished with sesame oil. I wanted to lick the bowl. My combo was Lobster Sauce with Pork Fried Rice and an Egg Roll. First let me preface this by saying I've reviewed around 100 Chinese food restaurants on here. Their Egg Roll is most likely the best I have ever had. I dreamed about that Egg Roll all night. Probably will tonight too. Lobster Sauce and Pork Fried Rice were delicious! I also really liked the flavors in the very tender Orange Beef. Starts with that tangy flavor and leaves with just a little kick. Hot mustard is 🔥! Great duck sauce too!
Really excited to see their comeback. More excited that my experience exceeded expectations! Go check them out!
Edit: Went back to have the Spareribs on the Bone! These are some of the best of the best! 6 very meaty, flavorful, perfect char, juicy bites of heaven are absolutely delicious and worthy of a cross state drive! Picture of them added!
I also added another Egg Roll pic that looks...
