Went to Zachary's this morning to have a special early breakfast with my daughter before dropping her off at school and had a very bad experience. My family and I go a lot. The food is good and usually comes out quick. Unfortunately the waitress was unprofessional, impolite, lacked customer service and common courtesy.
We arrived and didn't get a kids menu had to ask for one after a few minutes and after a few minutes, my daughter is 5. She never got offered the markers that come with the laminated menus to draw on. It was about 6:45am, there were only two men having breakfast and two men whom came after us, we sat and waited to place our order and were ignored.
The waitress went to the two men whom came after us and asked for their order and put it in before ours. I politely went up to the counter and let her know we were ready to order. The waitress cut me off before I could finish my sentence and said: "I'm busy putting in an order I will go over when I'm done". I wanted to leave right there and then but, looking back at my daughter and seeing the joy in her eyes of going to a restaurant with just mom. I made the decision to stick it out, this was a special breakfast date with my daughter.
The waitress came back to take our orders after telling her coworkers a story or conversation of some sort, about a bar. The waitress asked for our order and as I was speaking the waitress just kept interrupting, to show and set a good example for my 5 year old, I just started over and repeated our entire order, continuing to say please and thank you the entire time.
An older couple sat down across from us and said good morning and complimented my daughters beautiful dress, my daughter shyly said thank you. We got chocolate chip pancakes although my daughter didn't ask for them, the waitress never came back to ask us if everything was okay although she went around to the other tables to check and ask.
We were done with our meals and my daughter sat on my lap an obvious sign that we were done. I sat looking over towards the kitchen and my daughter laid her head on my shoulder facing the window. The waitress looked at me and went to the back and the rest of the staff scattered to the back. Again only the older couple and us sitting at the restaurant.
After waiting a few minutes I couldn't help but ask the older couple, across from us, if they have ever had a bad experience here, since I hadn't until today. The man mentioned they changed a lot of the waitresses. At this point the waitress rushed over and asked what I wanted or needed, again very rude.
I politely asked for a to-go box. I also mentioned we got something we didn't order, didn't get markers and were never checked on again. She walked away and said: "I will get you some to-go boxes". Not acknowledging anything I had just mentioned or apologizing. The couple next to us said: "I can't believe she didn't even say sorry". I then responded: “I figured she would at least apologize" at this point the waitress very loudly said: "I’m not apologizing, no I’m not apologizing"
The couple across from us sat in disbelief and nodded their heads. I couldn't help but ask the older woman across from us for her phone number in case I wanted to notify management. The woman gave me her home and cell number and assured me I could call her anytime. The waitress was still saying something in the back, behind the counter, all I heard her say clearly was: "what is her problem?"
What was supposed to be a special breakfast date with my 5 year old turned out to be the worst lack of customer service experience I have ever had. I didn't dare touch the food and just prayed that the waitress or her colleagues hadn't done anything to tamper with my daughters’ food. Unfortunately, I don't think my family and I will...
Read moreBeen going here for years- during previous owners and current. I don't usually write reviews- but the experience I had truly warrants a message. On Saturday, my husband and I came in for breakfast. We followed a couple in- separate party. We were greeted with a friendly mention to sit anywhere. And we quite literally could sit anywhere, as there were only 2 other patrons eating. We chose a table. The couple who came in before us chose a table. Waitress seems friendly enough took our drink order. We noticed the couple who came in with us had given the waitress their order. We received our drinks. Then, another couple showed up. Sat in the booth next to us. Waitress walked by us several times. Still hadn't taken our order. But we were patient. No where to be in a hurry. The waitress walked over to the table next to us and took the couples order. We were baffled. Waitress walks by us several more times... even delivering the food of the couple we walked in after. Not once acknowledging us. My husband was nice enough to leave enough money to pay for the coffee and juice we ordered, but that was more than what I wanted to do. To be looked over THAT many times when there was only a total of now 5 customers (2 of which had already received their food before we had sat down) was just disgusting and rude. We've NEVER had an experience like that in the YEARS we've been going. In fact, we've never received that kind of hospitality anywhere. Very disappointed. We are fair and respectful people, we always tip very well, and we always treat waitstaff with great consideration for their work. I don't know the waitress' name, but she enjoyed the word "yoinks". Everyone has a bad day- but she was very upbeat and friendly... and it wasn't busy.... so we honestly have no idea why she overlooked us the...
Read moreVisited today about 10am. Party of 4. Me, my wife and my two young adult kids. We grabbed a corner table. The environment was fine. Tables were nice and it was a clean environment. We ordered steak, a burger and two breakfast plates. We weren't able to eat the breakfast plates as the eggs were cold, the bacon must have been prepped early am because when we got the bacon it was hard as a rock, cold, brittle and super dark. The home fries must have been early morning prep too because they were also cold, semi warm but had obviously been sitting all morning. Sausage was cold and greasy. So on top of the unusually high prices and a la carte set up on the menu. We were unable to eat any of the breakfast plates. My daughter said the burger was ok ("mid" as she called it) and my son said the steak was ok but nothing to write home about. So when I got the bill, the waitress presented me with the guest slip she took our order on and it had written on it: $99 and change with $6 and change in taxes with a total of $106+. Which seemed ludicrous so I asked for an itemized receipt. The total of the itemized receipt was $94 --- which led me to believe that the waitress had padded the bill by $12 (presenting me with a guest slip of $106) relying on me to simply pay and tip again it seems. In other words, ask for an itemized receipt when you go or you may have your bill padded by the waitress as well. Management may want to investigate this if they don't know. Never had this happen before so I was livid about it but didn't complain. Just decided we would never go there again. If you want cold, expensive food and a padded bill, this will be your place. Maybe this is why the...
