Stow House of Pizza — Restaurant in Stow

The Greek family that runs this place is great. We usually get takeout. I've seen police and fire officers from not only Stow but Maynard and other nearby towns, so you can't get a better endorsement than that.

I love the chicken wings appetizer. My girlfriend loves the fried cheese sticks.

I'm allergic to tomatoes, and they don't have pesto sauce so we came up with our own pizza special, which I highly recommend: large pizza, no sauce, double cheese, onions, sausage, anchovies, black olives. It sounds funky, but oh yeah, this pizza has the funk like an old vinyl Parliament album.

Anyhow, our go to when we can't decide on something else and are so afflicted with ennui we can't cook.

This is the first time my family got take out from this place, and its ok- nothing to write home to mom about. Let's talk about the food first. The fries were plentiful, but bland. The portions were satisfactory, but the taste was meh.. we got the steak cheese, buffalo calzone, and meatball. I guess I was looking for what others who left great reviews had- delicious tasting food. The plus side is the girl who took the order as she was very nice, but there was a man who was fixing the door and seemed a little pre-occupied. In all fairness, it is uncertain if that man works at Stow House of Pizza. The 3 stars is for the food. For $50, we should have just got down the streets to Mcdonalds instead. I've ordered from these guys 30+ times. Their food is good when they actually put in the effort, but that's a very uncommon occurrence. They used to be better, but they have really fallen off over the past year.

For example, I just ordered food and picked it up...literally everything was disappointing. Asked for extra cheese on my veal parm and not only was there no extra cheese, the cheese that was on there wasn't melted. The fries were soggy (and they have been the last 5 times I ordered - I'm done with their fries).

To top it off, their owner is incredibly unfriendly both on the phone AND in person. I'm pretty fed up with their lack of effort and unfriendly attitude. Add it all up and I won't be ordering from them...
