Matterhorn: A Scenic Delight with Delicious Bites

Nestled in a stunning, picturesque location right by the road, Matterhorn is a gem of a restaurant that combines breathtaking views with mouthwatering cuisine. My recent visit was nothing short of fabulous, and here's why:

Scenic Setting:

Matterhorn’s location is nothing short of spectacular. The restaurant is situated in a beautifully scenic area, offering patrons an incredible view that enhances the overall dining experience. Whether you're inside enjoying the cozy ambiance or seated outdoors taking in the picturesque surroundings, the scenery adds an extra layer of enjoyment to your meal.

Culinary Highlights:

The culinary offerings at Matterhorn are truly outstanding. The chicken wings are a must-try, with both flavored and non-flavored options available. Each bite is a burst of taste, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The variety ensures there's something for everyone, and the quality of the wings stands out as a highlight of the menu.

Additionally, the pizza at Matterhorn is absolutely fantastic. The crust is perfectly crispy, and the toppings are fresh and flavorful, making each slice a delightful experience.

Beverage Selection:

Matterhorn also boasts an impressive selection of tap beers. Whether you’re a connoisseur or just looking to try something new, the diverse range of options ensures that you'll find something that suits your taste perfectly. It’s the perfect complement to the delectable food.

Memorable Experience:

Despite the rainy weather during my visit, the experience was thoroughly enjoyable. The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant made it a perfect refuge from the rain, and the delicious food and drinks turned a gloomy afternoon into a delightful outing.

Overall:

Matterhorn is a wonderful blend of scenic beauty, excellent food, and great drinks. The combination of stunning views, delectable chicken wings, mouthwatering pizza, and a fantastic beer selection makes it a standout dining destination. Whether you’re looking for a memorable meal or a cozy spot to relax and enjoy, Matterhorn delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a fabulous...

This a ski bar restaurant with decent pricing and healthy portions and friendly staff. It is a local favorite with a casual bar vibe. Definitely make reservations and dine early. We arrived around 5:15pm on a summer Friday so that made parking and seating much easier. The place is very large with backyard seating and they have a fun list of beers on tap. Our waiter was great – very accommodating and mostly attentive. Almost all the food had “yummy sauce” on it – someone needs to tell them that it’s not so yummy – it’s just super sweet mild BBQ sauce. We had heard they have great sushi. The Matterhorn poke bowl was good and I skipped the yummy sauce and opted for soy sauce instead – it was so huge that I managed to only eat half of it. The California roll was good too. The quality of the sushi is standard – about the same as Sushi Yoshi but definitely more food for the money. The selection is mostly rolls and a la carte sushi or sashimi by the piece so no sushi or sashimi dinner combinations. There is the party platter $99 for 5 rolls, 4 pieces of sushi and 8 sashimi but we’d probably still be there trying to finish it. The 12 oz NY strip steak was good and we skipped the bourbon sauce because it really doesn’t need it. The glazed brussel sprouts were a surprise – a little dry and charred but flavorful and all were eaten. We wanted to try the chocolate confusion cake but had no room left! We were a bit disappointed when we responded that we’d like indoor seating and were not seated in the very popular indoor patio tables by the stream – it was our first time dining here so we didn’t know to ask for that seating but it became obvious we were in the least popular seating as we sat by ourselves while the rest of the restaurant filled until a very large group arrived and were seated near us. This group enjoyed multiple pizzas. It is definitely kid friendly and good for large groups – just make sure you have reservations. For me a 3.5 stars but since the rating must a whole star and we will go back,...

In terms of the food- seriously disappointing, my fries came out cold, the food tasted like it sat around, which it probably did, we waited over 45 minutes and the cocktails were really watered down. My Spritz tasted like total seltzer water. Overall, a very underwhelming dining experience if you’re looking for a good meal.

For the venue and management/ staff- I had the most horrific experience at The Matterhorn during their "ice breaking contest" event. The event was poorly organized and dangerously executed, with zero safety precautions in place. They failed to explain any safety measures or potential risks involved.

I assumed there would be some level of precaution taken by the venue—especially considering there were drunk, overserved patrons crowded around the contest area. Unfortunately, that was not the case.

During the contest, I was struck by a flying brick of ice and suffered a significant injury. I was left bleeding with a huge knot on my head. Instead of receiving any assistance or concern from the staff, the management was only interested in diffusing the situation quickly. They rushed us out of the bar, showing no regard for my injury or well-being.

To make matters worse, their treatment of our group was utterly disrespectful. Some of us weren't even drinking, yet the staff acted dismissively and irresponsibly. The management's lack of empathy and professionalism was appalling.

I strongly advise against attending any events at The Matahorn. The disregard for safety and customer care is unacceptable.

Pictures for example + video shows 1.5 hours post event- the ice shirt was still rock solid. That’s what I get pelted with by a 200lb man participating in the contest at full...

The Matterhorn I feel tries to be too "high brow" for what it is. The food seems good but is held back by adding just one too many things onto something that already is great. I had 3 items: Appetizers- Red Hot Dumplings They boast coming in a sweet chili sauce and soy sauce glaze but overall the combination doesn't work and you end up with just a very runny sauce that is less "Red Hot" and more mild than anything. It also masked the flavor of the pork far too much. Entree- Lamb Burger with Truffle Fries The Truffle Fries ended up being very disappointing and I wish I hadn't upgraded to them. The burger was recommended to be cooked medium rare which I went with but I honestly believe it was cooked far more rare than that. Dessert- Pannacotta Probably the highlight of the meal but still fairly disappointing. The offer a bit of syrup or perhaps it's a preserve on top, but once it's gone you're left with only the extremely light vanilla flavor. I'll likely try The Matterhorn again as I truly do like their interior but I hope the food is better the next visit.
