I visited the Strassburg McDonalds last evening at 10:30pm. The dining room closes at 11 and the drive thru is open 24 hours. I went to the mens room and it was filthy. There was only one other party of 4 in the dinning room. The dinning room was also dirty, but I overlooked that since it was 1/2 hour before closing. My son, daughter and son in law and I ordered our food and sat down to wait till it was ready. They came out and told us that the 2 drinks (Latte') that we ordered couldn't be made since they already tore down the machine for cleaning. So she offered Hot Chocolate. Then came back and said that the hot chocolate machine was down as well. So we got coffee and a water. Then we went and got our food and they screwed up my sons order, gave him a grilled wrap and not a crispy wrap, and a medium fry and not a large. The fries were not hot, although we had to wait about 5 minutes or longer for our order. So we ate our food and did not complain about the mix up. Then to top things off, my daughter went back up one minute after 11 to order some chicken nuggets and the manager told her that the register is closed..... and the only register that was open was the drive thru. So my daughter asked if she had to go out to the drive thru and the manager said YES!!!! So shocked that the manager told her this, she came back to our table red faced and surprised that a MANAGER would offer that kind of horrible service to a customer. So we were disgusted and decided to just leave. But not before confronting the manager.....So I went to the manager and asked "Really? we can't order here?" She said sorry, this register is closed. So then I asked if she couldn't ring it up on the drive thru regiester..... She said in a hesitant voice, well, I guess I could but you will have to wait. I have customers in the drive thru. I told her that her customer service stinks and she said in a carefree tone, "Sorry, thats just the way it is" I told her "Not as sorry as I am, because I will never come back here again! and thats how I left. Zero Customer service!! And thats management? Glad she doesn't manage...
Read moreLast night (Friday after High School football) my wife and I stopped at this Mcdonalds to eat just before 1000 pm. With no one waiting to order, we stood there wondering if they even realized we were there until the Manager finally told someone "hey you have a customer." Although a little annoying, I chalked that up to them just being busy at the drivethru or something. After placing our order I started to wonder then, if anyone was going to even make our order since it didn't look like anyone was preparing anything at the workstation. When we did get our order I was willing to forgive that too, because I appreciated how friendly the guys waiting on us were after expecting them to be a little rude given the state of their service. However, here's where things get less forgivable, as I stated before we arrived just before 1000 pm assuming it was well before closing time (checking online states the dining room closes at 1200 am on Friday night). After sitting down to eat I figured out we must have just made it in before the dining room closed having noticed the Manager letting other people out when they wanted to leave. Then I quickly realized we were locked in a restaurant equipped with crash doors for emergency exit that we could not get through until the Manager either decided to, or noticed us, and let us out. When we left and the Manager opened the door for us I asked her what would you do if there was a fire, and she replied, kind of rudely, "we have other ways to get out." My next question is... Ok, but how are your diners supposed to get out? During a time of emergency, and possible panic, people who are not familiar with the restaurant in all likelihood will not find the "other ways" out. Isn't that what crash doors are for, to keep customers from being locked in during an emergency? So, even though the service was not good, and the fries were cold and stale I will still give them two stars because I was impressed with how friendly the two gentlemen were who waited on us. However, poor safety and and customers at risk can not...
Read moreBetween the price increases and longer wait time due to staffing, picking up quality fast food has been rough lately. I stop in here once a month or so because it is fairly convenient to I77 while traveling and they have a nice grassy area outback where the dog can stretch her legs. We did have to wait a bit for our food this last visit because there were only two women inside working but it was well worth it. I went with the number 1 and it was the best Big Mac I've had in a long, long while. It was picture perfect and hot! In a time of flattened half size wonder patties, pieces of lettuce the size of clovers and watered down pops during budget cuts it was an awesome surprise. Maybe I was lucky because I've been there before when the line stretched out to the road and fries were delivered to the pull ahead area, cold. But those two women were hustling that day and getting the job done. I hope they stick...
