This spot's a solid choice for lunch, and I'm not surprised given the fair prices and generous portion sizes. The real star of the show is the Pastelon - it's worth every bite, and I'd love to see it on the menu more often.

The mofongos are consistently good, and I've got a soft spot for the chicken mofongo with rice and beans and maduros on the side. It's a reliable go-to.

One thing to note is the crowd dynamic - it's best to avoid the noon rush if you can, things calm down nicely after 3 pm. Service is friendly, and the bilingual staff makes it easy for everyone to order. Parking's a breeze too, thanks to the attached lot and proximity to the highway.

The absolute worst sandwich, I have had a better roast pork sandwich at Pueblo’s Grocery on Pembroke Street! They got my order wrong and the pork had so much fat and veiny meat in huge chunks I was completely appalled considering the price of the sandwich. I also ordered two alcapurrias and I am Puerto Rican I know that different cultures have their own version of this, but what they sold me was definitely not alcapurrias.I would recommend anyone looking for frituras go over to Papa’s Place in Stratford,Ct!!!!! The original owners who were there, were the nicest people. Since they have gone, nothing is the same. The staff is unfriendly. They don't speak to you, don't smile, don't talk to you at all. I gave them plenty of time to warm up to me over a year, and nothing. No thank you, have a good day, it's like you have to beg them to serve you. Won't be going there again. Quality of food not good and terrible service. What a shame we needed a good place to eat but not worth the disrespect they treat you with after giving the 2 years of patronage....
