After becoming a recent customer of Dal Mare, I am very happy with my experiences as well as the quality of food. The moment you walk in you can feel the happiness and friendships among all of the staff members and owners. You can see the clear appreciation the owners and staff have for their customers based on the interactions. In fact, all of the owners know their customers by name and great them accordingly when walking inside of the restaurant. It is comforting knowing they have "regular customers" and treat everyone like family. All of the owners and staff are extremely friendly and approachable and will even talk to you not regarding food related matters. I love this quality about Dal Mare.
After visiting many Italian places, Dal Mare is my favorite. You can tell the taste in the true, authentic Italian food dishes. My food always comes out hot and perfect every single time (depending on what I order that day). From the sauces to the sandwiches and pizzas to desserts, you can never go wrong with anything you order from here. Everything is always so fresh! After speaking with one of the owners, all of their recipes are family recipes and you can tell within the positive quality of the food. Everything is also made homemade daily! This is amazing to me and I love the effort they put into their food as well as the care for their customers. If you are unsure of what you would like to order, anyone in Dal Mare can make recommendations and modify your requests. They are extremely helpful and want every customer to have a positive experience. You can tell all of the people within Dal Mare love what they do and it comes from the heart. Sometimes, I feel like this is a hard quality to find within restaurants. I am never disappointed every time I walk in here. I hope you have the same wonderful experience I continue to have! I have been recommending Dal Mare to anyone I talk to regarding food since it is delicious!
P.S. If you have not tried the fresh, hand made mozzarella sticks with dipping sauce and the stuffed breads, these are some of my...
ย ย ย Read moreJust found this gem today. I ordered a burrata panini and a slice of cheese pizza. When I went to pick things up the people were very friendly and I also noticed they have slices of Sicilian pizza. It's a round shaped pie and cut in triangles. So of course I had to have one of those as well. I had planned on taking this back to my house but the regular slice didn't make it out of the car! The first bite I tasted buttery mozzarella, fresh-tasting sauce and a great chew to the crust! Top-notch ingredients went into this pie! It's like I was eating a pie from the Bronx! I didn't have them heat the Sicilian piece so I put it in the oven when I got home. While waiting for it to heat up I dug into the burrata panini. To say it was amazing is an understatement! I was making noises as if it was a 30-day dry-aged rib-eye I was eating! It consists of burrata cheese, chicken cutlet, prosciutto, arugula and hot honey which really makes this sandwich. All this in-between fresh-made focaccia bread! This place is only a little over a year old, but knows how to do things right. If you haven't gone, go! If you've gone, then go back and let's keep this little treasure in business! All I know after eating here once is that I'm going to need bigger pants! ๐
Update! Okay so I've made it back two more times and everything I've had has been delicious! Noticed they have homemade stuffed cherry peppers definitely going to hit that...
ย ย ย Read moreThe hidden jewel of Lordship! Whether you're coming in for a slice (which is really two since they cut them BIG) or to buy five candy pizzas (since your kid is an addict), Dal Mare is fantastic! Oh, yeah, that's right โ they do pizza NY style. You can go in, grab a couple of slices, and live your best life.
Remember how I mentioned their pizza slices? Nothing beats grabbing a couple before going to the beach or not wanting to cook on a Wednesday night and ordering a Johnny A grinder. What's a Johnny A grinder? Imagine a golden chicken cutlet, some fresh moss, a little prosciutto, and a balsamic glaze sitting inside a...grinder.
Okay, okay, I'm not going to get into how weird it is that here in Connecticut, you call a hero sandwich a "grinder." How could anyone stare at a delicious sandwich and think I'll call it a "grinder?" It doesn't make any sense. As a personal stand, I'm teaching my kid to call it a hero. But you didn't come here for my stance on sandwich vernacular. You came for my opinions on Dal Mare.
I cannot recommend them enough!
Also, their chocolate chip cookies are basically crack--not that I've ever had crack or used a crack pipe--but hypothetically it's the best possible comparison.
Okay, now put down your phone, go grab a couple of slices, a candy pizza, and 3 chocolate chip cookies, and then come back here and tell me how...
