Kona Ice of Houston — Restaurant in Sugar Land

What do you do when you have a huge birthday celebration scheduled in a Houston park in the midst of scorching summer temperatures in the triple digits? Well, I reached out to Kona-Ice of Houston at the last minute and received an immediate response. In a matter of 15 minutes I was booked. The process was so easy and such a relief! I ended up changing the agreed upon number of cups and sizes to accommodate the possible number of non rspv guests and it was not a problem for them at all! On the day of the birthday party, the driver arrived right on time and was such a pleasure to have interacting with my guests! We had guests from the age of 1 year-old to the birthday queen’s age of 93 years old. Don’t worry, this party in the park in the heat was all her idea! That’s why I had to get partnered up with Kona-Ice to help keep the guests cool. Wish you could have seen the pure excitement on the faces of all ages when the brightly colored van pulled up with the birthday queen’s name on it! I was so impressed with the level of service provided to my guests that I provided our driver with a 30% tip! Names evade me, but I think his name was Durrell??? I took my kid to the dentist back to school event, yesterday 8/7/2023. The lady driving the snow cone truck makes her company look so bad. THE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM, RACISM, AND IGNORANCE this “lady” (i should use another word) displayed yesterday was extremely uncalled for. She aggressively gave some of the kids their snow cone. She would make several rude and racist comments and act like a complete snob. I hope she reads this. I am 100% positive everyone in attendance will agree. Her comments were “I dont know why they send me to Spanish communities” (and yes she made a disturbed face while saying it) told me and several others (with a snobby attitude) that she doesn't speak Spanish so don't talk to her in Spanish. At the end of the day it’s not what you say it’ how you said it. Oh and then she told her boss that she was being held hostage. WHEN CLEARLY THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE WAY FOR HER TO LEAVE. She kept telling ppl that she can not stay because she has another event togo to. She was supposed to be there till 1, and kept trying to leave way before then and telling ppl she can not stay till 1. This "lady" was serving discovery green today (9/2/17), my family and I ordered 1 small shaved ice for our 4 year old daughter on our way to ride the horse and carriage. Both destinations share the same sidewalk and when we walked from the Kona ice to the horses we noticed she charged us twice. When we came to address the minor mistake on her behalf she got rude with us stating she did not remember us (less then 3 mins later) and gave us a lot of attitude as if we would lie about $3. I totally understand little businesses don't want to deal with refunds but this rude bum didn't even offer another small shaved ice for the mistake only her basicly calling us liars and looking upon my family with attitude.
