Saito & Pho — Restaurant in Sugar Land

We tried this place for the first time the other day and it probably the last. I ordered what supposedly a large bun bo hue but the bowl came out smaller than a small bowl in other restaurants. The bun were all cut up like they gave me left over stuff from someone else's bowl. Oh and three paper thin slices of meat along with one small blood cube (huyet). My wife ordered a com ga, which took over 45 mins and us keep asking the waiter like 5 times to come out. The chicken was extremely over cooked and dried to the point that was painful to swallow. In addition to the horrendous food, the service was inexcusably slow. There were only 5 tables in there including us so you can't say that's rush hours and it seems like 3 of the 5 tables were their friends and family, whom by the way, placed the order after us but somehow got served before us. The guy that took our order seems to be very confused with what we ordered and kept coming back to ask us what we ordered, yet he took the order with an iPad. One would think they have all the new technologies and fancy gadgets to keep their orders straight. Nope! I really can't see how this place got a perfect 5 stars, makes you wonder if those reviewers were even...

HORRIBLE!!!

The old guy that that is giving out the orders is so rude. When i went to pick up the order the 1st time I asked for extra sauce because he just gave me one and it was 2 orders, and he gave me a nasty look and turned around and said something in his language to the lady. When I turned around to head towards the door I saw two of the customers that were eating looked at each other surprised.

Fast FWD to today, my co-worker went and she had an issue with the old man being rude also, he did not let her check her food and was not willing to sell her a bowl when he's supposed to provide one with the ORDER OF PHO.

I would not recommend that you guys visit this place AT ALL. Specially if he is the owner, because he should be providing excellent customer service if he wants to keep...

The most authentic Bún Bò. Growing up in Vietnam, Bún bò has been my favorite breakfast for entire life, I am so happy that I found this place 2 years ago. I love how they have “rau muống bào” shredded water spinach for the vegetable, which very rare here in the states, but would be must have in Vietnam for Bún Bò. The only thing I would make comments about is the attitude, very standoff, not friendly. I asked for the check to pay, but the front desk said I need to pay first then I can have the check, which is off because it should be the other way around, so I can see what I ordered and charged.
