Review from 2024: Fast forward a few years and I back again.
This time it was slightly on the miss side when it came to customer service. Everyone seemed occupied sitting around and doing random non-work stuff. Only one person was behind the counter even though I saw about 3-5 employees.
I only came to buy boxes of donuts to take back home with me. Typically, they use the 6-donut box, but this time, she was insistent on using the flat dozen box....but I had to be insistent on two 6-donut boxes since I was taking it in my personal bag. And YES donuts are allowed in a personal/carry-on!!! I ordered a chocolate filled donut for myself.
I came in the morning, so they were pretty much fully stocked with the ones I selected. The donuts seem much smaller than last time...and I was able to down 3-4 donuts at once back then....now it would probably be more like 5-6. It was roughly $11 for a dozen donuts. It tasted okay.
Would I return? yea, I would.
Review from 2018: I feel like this place can be hit-or-miss for service and products based on other reviews. Luckily I had two good experiences.
My first visit...I actually came for the chocolate filled donuts. Unfortunately since we did come later in the day, they didn't have much selection left. I was pretty disappointed. The lady behind the counter kinda felt bad and told me to try the chocolate filled chocolate donut and gave me a sample, said to come back if I liked it. Unfortunately, I didn't.
Nonetheless, I came back a couple days later. I believe the owner was behind the counter this time. And they had plenty of chocolate filled Donuts...well 4 of them, and I bought them all, as well as 8 others! I was going to order a coffee... But I wasn't sure if it was fresh and decided to just get coffee at home. However the older gentleman went ahead and poured a cup and didn't charge me.
The customer service was quite exceptional compared to my experience at...
Read moreHorrible customer service! I ordered a dozen donuts and went to pick them up in drive-thru. I got the order and noticed that they gave me the wrong donuts. I called the store and spoke with the employee, and she said they were out of the donuts I wanted. I asked her why she didn't bother to tell me this when I came to pick up my order. She didn't even apologize. She just told me to call the manager. This happened last Sunday. I've been calling the whole week, but she keeps answering and saying, "The manager is not here, call tomorrow." I understand that mistakes happen, but I can't understand how the employees can't resolve this issue? Why should I pay for donuts that I didn't want? Why is it so difficult to get in touch with the manager. The employees should have taken my name and number, and then the manager should call me directly. This bad review could have been avoided, but the employees simply don't care about messing up...
Read moreI always come to Shipley’s Donuts, but after today, I’m not sure I’ll be returning. I’ve had issues at this location before, but today really took the cake. I had a horrible experience with the employee working on Wednesday morning, 3/19. The short lady behind the counter really ruined the experience. My goodness, she clearly has anger issues and seems to have a serious problem with listening. She was rushing so much that she kept dropping donuts. I asked her to replace two of the donuts because I take pictures of them every month as a marker for my son's growth. Instead of being understanding, she became defensive and upset. It was incredibly frustrating, and I’ve never had an issue like this at Shipley’s before. It’s such a shame because I’ve always enjoyed their donuts, but the way I was treated might just be...
