On Superbowl Sunday I saw an ad for a special on Popeye's chicken wings. My wife and I are 80 years old and thought that would make a great meal while watching the game. I called the restaurant before leaving and asked if I could order the special in the store or in the drive-thru and was told that I could. When I arrived at the restaurant I was told that the order had to be placed online. I unfortunately had left my cell phone at home (a 10 minute drive) so I asked to talk to the manager to see if he could be nice enough to take the order without me having to drive another 20 minutes to get my phone. I have never been treated so rudely by an individual in my life. He basically told me it wasn't his problem that I didn't order on line, that he was unable to take my order at the special rate but I could order it at the regular price which was 8 dollars more (we live on social security). When I was ready to leave...without my meal...I asked him for his name. He said he had no obligation to give me his name...probably didn't want it in the review. Read moreI pulled up in a hurry for an online order that was supposed to be ready, not one person was in the lobby nor drive thru. When I walked in an employee came to the front told me my order would be 10 more minutes. I continued to wait 17 minutes while 3 employees were at the opened back door smoking and one at the drive through was playing on her phone, not one person was working on my order, finally another employee that had a noticeable disability and was cleaning kindly ask what I was waiting for and one of the employees that knew I was waiting for said, we’re waiting on her to move your car the same way she’s waiting on her order! Mind you, not one customer was in the store nor the drive thru while I waited. I explained I was in a hurry and the first employee mocked at the kind disabled man saying he’s slow, like it was his fault although it was clear he had nothing to do with preparing my order and he was actually being helpful! Read moreWhat the hell is wrong with this Popeyes? Got told to park and wait AFTER I paid with no explanation or warning beforehand. Took a whopping 30 MINUTES to get my food. Watched the sunset in the process, cars coming and going. Again, NO WARNING! Had I known ahead of time I would have gone else where! Did not get any compensation offered. It was very apparent they forgot about my order, despite the lack of customers. Right after I left I realized they had rang my order in wrong on top of everything else! Had to go back and ASK for a refund after complaining when one should have been offered at this point! Spent almost 45 minutes in total and ended up with the wrong food! What is the interview process here, if one at all? Everyone working appears mentally incompetent. Popeyes is one of the easiest jobs on the market, such a small menu and slow pace.
