An Exquisite Culinary Journey at La Strega!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I am absolutely thrilled to share my sublime dining experience at La Strega. This fantastic restaurant, with its remarkable staff and gastronomic excellence, warrants nothing short of a five-star review!
From the moment we stepped into La Strega, we were enveloped by a captivating ambiance, radiating an eclectic blend of chic sophistication and warm coziness. Every corner of the restaurant is designed with an elegant flair that complements the overall dining experience.
The main star of our evening was our server, Mia. Mia's incredible attention to detail, genuine hospitality, and infectious enthusiasm elevated our dining experience to new heights. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and her recommendations hit the mark each time. From guiding us through the wine list to suggesting perfect entree pairings, Mia navigated us seamlessly through our culinary journey at La Strega.
However, the excellence didn't stop there. The manager, Melody, was equally impressive with her gracious and accommodating demeanor. Managing a large group can sometimes be challenging, but Melody handled our party with a deft touch, ensuring that every detail was taken care of to our satisfaction. Her approachable and warm personality added an extra touch of finesse to our evening.
Now let's talk about the food. Every dish we sampled was an intricate ballet of flavors and textures, beautifully presented and simply delicious. Each course showcased La Strega's commitment to high-quality, fresh ingredients prepared with creativity and finesse.
The crowning jewel of the night, however, was the surprise dessert sampler presented to us. A medley of exquisite treats, each one a unique delight, was the perfect endnote to our memorable meal. From creamy tiramisu to a tangy lemon tart, the sampler was a testament to the culinary team's versatility and creativity.
La Strega undoubtedly offers a phenomenal dining experience. It's not just the food or the ambiance that makes it stand out, but the people who run it with such passion and dedication. A special shout-out to Mia and Melody for their exceptional service, turning our visit into an unforgettable gastronomic adventure.
Whether you're planning a night out with friends, a romantic date, or a special celebration, La Strega will surpass your expectations. This place truly exemplifies a top-tier dining experience, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking the best of what the culinary world...
Read moreSo, I planned to eat here with with my two friends for the 36 hours we were in Vegas. Imagine my HUGE disappointment at my mistake in making our reservation for the wrong night. Yeah. :/ So we walk in and Savanah, the hostess, is so sweet and sympathetic and doesn't make me feel bad for my mistake and simply says, let's see what we can do. My friends were not happy with me and were ready to leave. BUT the front house crew came to the rescue. This is really huge for me because I'm in a service industry and their combined efforts made it possible for us to get a seat during their very busy Friday night. This alone puts them in a 5-star category for me.
Then, enter Joshua. Joshua has magic. It's a the kind of knowledge and charisma where you know right away that he's going to nail every recommendation. He did. I would like to note that the young lady who was responsible for making sure our water glasses were always full, never missed a beat. Again, attention to detail sets you apart. I didn't get her name but kudos to her.
Believe me when I say that everything on the menu is likely amazing. We had a Fritto Misti and Bruschetta Tartar to start - wonderful. Then their Frutti di Mare pasta that was spicy but nicely balanced with mint - an herb I'm not a fan of but DEVOURED. The Linguini Vongole is hard to elevate in my book and super easy to get wrong, but the balance of butter and lemon was beautiful here, it was perfect. The Bucatini Genovese was also nicely balanced as pesto can be very heavy. The pasta is phenomenal.
I'm not a desert person so I typically order vanilla ice cream if I want a palet cleanser. But of course here, it came with an amazing cabernet syrup. My friends had the Nutella Mousse and the Canoli (which always reminds me of The Godfather). And we loved it all. We capped the night off with coffee and tea and we just relaxed for our last few moments.
I could write a book on the wine and mixologist - the wine was amazing (try the REISLING! I'm not a fan of sweet wines and he didn't tell me it was a Reisling and I was amazed by it). My suggestion here is let them guide you, unless you know what you want. The mixologist made me a wonderful Old Fashioned with rye whiskey that was a great way to start the meal.
I was very excited to eat here but it became an experience. A very reasonably priced menu for the quantity and atmosphere, with wonderful staff, and absolutely delicious food. If I could give it 6...
Read moreSince it opened last month, La Strega (Italian for witch) has been casting delicious spells on its customers, as evidenced by the packed evenings this new Summerlin spot has been experiencing. I have been here twice now, the first time as a guest and the second time with a few girlfriends; this review is for the latter visit. We had a reservation for 5:00pm when the restaurant opened and were seated next to the windows where we had a great view of the room and open kitchen. When you go, you’ll notice a wonderful mural done by local artist Holly Rae Vaughn on the walls which depicts the witches of Benevento and their walnut tree (Google this for more info). Our party of four ordered family-style, sharing the Fritto Misto, Roasted Mushrooms, Spicy Pig Pizza, Bucatini Genovese, and Rigatoni Bolognese. We also ordered the special of the day, a prosciutto aged for 30 months in a dungeon, served with grilled apricots and ricotta drizzled with honey. One of my friends ordered a cocktail while the rest of us stuck to water. Our dessert was the Bomba, a house-made donut filled with coconut budino and topped with lime sugar. Take note that this particular dessert is made in limited quantities and, knowing this, we let our server know that we wanted one as soon as we sat down. The bill with all of these items plus tip came to around $150 so for a party of four dining family-style, it’s really not that expensive for the quality and service that we received (nothing was comped). The food is fabulous! I would highly recommend the Roasted Mushrooms and the Rigatoni Bolognese and if you’re lucky enough to be there on a night when that aged prosciutto is offered, you should definitely get it. I was a little apprehensive about the Spicy Pig Pizza because I don’t handle spicy too well, but this wasn’t that spicy. The pizza crust is delicious; we asked for a side of honey to go with it and our server, Sheena, obliged—so good! Chef Gina Marinelli, the proprietor, has an extensive culinary background that includes working alongside Scott Conant, Michael Mina, and Shawn McClain. Now running her own show in Summerlin, Chef Marinelli is off to a fabulous start with La Strega. Reservations are the way to go. Current hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 5:00pm-10:00pm and Sundays, 4:00pm-10:00pm. I can’t wait to go...
