Golden Dragon — Restaurant in Summerville

This is a hard one to review. Why? Because this place is not aesthetically appealing, the service is not the best either, and some of the reviews here (the bad ones) might be true but.... The food is good. And the amount they serve in a lunch menu can satisfy 2 people. I've been eating here for years occasionally I'd say at least once a month, always buying the same dish (boneless spare ribs lunch plate with sweet tea) and somehow I know I shouldn't but I'm tempted to do it, tempted to eat unhealthy, tempted that once a month I need this type of food, it tastes good, not gourmet definitely but my brain pushes me to have this and I like it, it's a guilty pleasure hidden in our brains, in my brain... When you’re hunting for Chinese food, there’s always that nagging little fear: “Is this going to taste like food court regret?” Let me tell you—this spot obliterates that fear. It’s as authentic and mouthwatering as it gets around here! Overall, this was the best Chinese place we have found in Summerville. The curry beef with onions was very good, but had an extremely small amount of meat in it. The shrimp lo mein was great, but the shrimp was very small. The general tso's was good but overly sweet. Nothing was outstanding, but all was solidly good enough to order again (or at least to try something else on the menu).

The covid protocol at this spot is insane, still in 2022. They have a two-sided doggy door for your food - as in, they open one door and enter the food, then you open a separate door and retrieve the food. There are microphones to...
