Went for dinner at about 7:30 on 8/18/21 there were 5 people in our group. They were very busy on the patio but we were able to get indoors rather quickly. Our waiter may have been a manager because while waiting for our table some people came in and asked if they could sit in the bar and the hostess said no there was currently a 10 minute wait for those tables. The waiter came by and recognized the woman and said have a seat and pointed to the table she had previously requested, when the customer told him what the hostess said he replied that’s ok you can sit there. To clarify he didn’t say he was the manager but that’s the impression I got. After we were seated everyone ordered beverages, he brought the drinks for everyone except me, so I reminded him that I ordered an ice tea, which he went to get. The next odd thing as we were ordering our meals when he got to me, I ordered the stuffed chicken and he asked what 2 sides I wanted. As I was looking at the side options he rather quickly and kind of pushy, like he was too hurried to let me choose myself he said most people order the mashed potatoes and vegetable (without saying what the vegetable was) so feeling pressured I said ok that’s what I’ll have. Then as the rest of the table ordered, I noticed he allowed them to peruse the menu no pushy suggestions on what sides to order. Ok…. He automatically brought refills for a couple of people who drank their drinks quickly at the table which I took as excellent service, later in the meal as my ice tea sat empty, he came up and asked if we needed anything else, obviously not seeing my empty glass, I said I would like more tea and 2 other people requested refills of their soft drinks he brought refills for everyone including for one of us that hadn’t requested anything, alas, no iced tea for me though, so I had to remind him that I had ordered tea. At that point I asked the others in the group if I was invisible. I don’t know if it was because I am a few years older than the rest of the group and this was blatant disrespect, due to my age and gray hair, or if the waiter just preferred the other people in my group. I didn’t have any interaction with him other than those 3 things. I was very disappointed to be treated like a non-person. This my 3 star rating. I hope Buck and Honey’s will use this review for training purposes. Edited to add: I forgot the 4th and final insult to me by the waiter, a couple of us asked for carry out boxes, as I was trying to put my leftovers in the box he tried to grab my plate away, twice. I forgot about the boxing of food until my daughter reminded me. This is the 2nd poor experience we’ve had at Buck and Honeys, the previous time was at the...
Read moreWow I cannot say enough praise for this restaurant. It was a highschool graduation celebration and my friend and I were treated by her parents. We got there and it was a very sunny day so we asked the hostess for a spot outside in the shade. She went out of her way to get us the spot and it was perfect. Great atmosphere and even though there were other people there, the noise level was perfect and overall I felt as though we were the only ones there relaxing in the breeze. Our hostess is the sweetest lady ever and took the time to talk to us and make us feel welcome. The service was outstanding and and our food came out very quickly. Everything was perfectly timed and both our appetizers and entrees were hot. Overall a stress free experience. I go out to eat at similar places often and this place was priced about the same if not slightly cheaper than most others but with 10× the food and service quality. We started by ordering the eggamole appetizer which is hard boiled eggs mashed into quacamole served with black bean chips. It was fresh and delicious and added more protein with a barely noticeable egg flavor. I then ordered the Korean bowl and when I tell you I finished every grain of rice, I am not exaggerating. I never finish all my food and this was a very sizeable portion. It was so good I would've payed more than what they asked for it. The shaved carrot strips tasted like noodles to me and the carrot flavor was not overpowering like I thought it might be, it was subtle and complementary. The teriyaki tenderloin and rice were delicious and the cucumber was fresh and crunchy and again I felt like I was eating pasta with the carrots. And don't be afraid of the kimchi, I asked for it on the side and it was a very small amount, perfect for trying out and not being wasteful if you don't end up liking it. Everyone else at the table raved about their food as well. For dessert we ordered a white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake as well as a Mississippi mud pie that was ice cream with an Oreo crust(to die for). A more accurate price range for this place would be 15-25 dollars per plate not including a drink, appetizer or desert. But we shared the appetizer and desserts across four people and finished all the appetizer and had only a small portion of cheesecake left by the end of it. Our bill was around 120$ before tipping. I will be coming back and certainly recreating that Korean...
Read moreGreat date night! We didn't know, but it was a local homecoming night, and it looks like this is THE place for dinner before the festivities. Groups and couples of high school kids dressed up filled up the place inside. We sat inside, but outdoors was very promising. I would've sat out if I hadn't been hiking all day and not wanting any more sun.
We were seated on a high table by the bar. It was great, except that the little tray they leave out to place the food when they come out was right behind my seat - and also right behind another seat around the corner. When the girl sitting around the corner got up to go to the bathroom, she knocked the little tray back, hit my table, made me jump, then rudely went off without saying anything. She was rude, but the tray really was in the way for both of us and should have been placed better or folded up and put away when not in use.
Other than that mishap, everything else at the place was very pleasant. Our server, Skyler, was very nice and helpful and completely on point. He could have come by to check on our drinks, but it was a busy night, so I don't really blame him. We could have used another glass of beer but he didn't return until too late, so we decided not to get more.
Food: Wagyu burger This was overpriced. I didn't feel like there was anything special about the "wagyu". It felt like a regular burger. And it was under seasoned for my taste. It was a solid burger, just not worth $25.
Firecracker shrimp Pizza Quite good. Just a note - it was good for me, not so much for the hubby. Their creamy sriracha sauce is on the sweet side rather than the spicy. The cheese was a little overdone - it was crusty rather than oozy. This pizza is good cold as leftovers too. On that note, the firecracker shrimp would be better ordered in its appetizer form rather than the pizza version.
There was live music playing outdoors. Great place for a nice date. Solid food, nice ambiance. Somewhat overpriced for...
