Came here for breakfast after spending the morning hiking, I was ready to go H.A.M. First impressions were great, the building is beautiful, both inside and out. LOTS of natural light in the dining area, and the lounge area by the fireplace was amazing. Once seated, the waiter took our order, and surprisingly, brought the food out relatively quickly.

The food here wasn't as good as the reviews mentioned, especially when considering the price AND the portions you're getting. I ordered the Schnitzelwaffle, primarily because it's the "Chef's Choice" here, and I didn't like it at all. Of course I ate it all and didn't complain, but honestly, the meat you get is very thin, and I just thought the mustard they put on the meat and waffle combo was not tasty at all, which left me very disappointed. I was still hungry, and placed an order for the Konditorei Breakfast. It's more of a traditional type of breakfast (eggs, potato, meat), and I really liked it, especially the bacon and the little potato hash brown circle you get. Once again, the price and portions were disappointing. For dessert, I got their swan pastry, which was really good IMO, and would go perfectly with their cappuccino. Their dessert counter is fantastic, they have so many choices and they all look fresh and unique.

I actually ordered a cappuccino AND a latte here, primarily because I had no clue what the difference was. Apparently the latte is supposed to be not as strong and more creamy than the cappuccino, which was true. I enjoyed them both, they tasted fantastic (I'm not an expert at all, but could definitely tell the difference in taste between these here and at McDonalds).

The three main negatives for me that bring this place to 3 stars are the service, the overall taste, and price. Even though our first round of food came rather quickly, when my party placed the second round of orders, it took a very long time (I don't have the exact wait time, but it was easily over 25 minutes and the place wasn't even that busy). We were very close of just asking for the bill and leaving. And when the food came, the waiter forgot to bring me the latte I ordered. Sometimes you come across a waiter / waitress that is attentive, friendly, a little talkative, and makes you feel welcome. This was the exact opposite of what we experienced here. It almost felt like our waiter was either someone who just started here, or was super overwhelmed and slammed, which is fine but is something I wanted to make note of. Finally, some of the breakfast entrees myself or my party ordered (Kale and Quinoa and Cauliflower Hash) didn't taste as good as I (or they) expected or lacked any distinct or signature taste, especially after the hype of all the positive reviews here. As for the price, it felt very inflated to me when comparing the portions and overall taste to some of the local spots I know of back at home.

Overall, I really LOVED the atmosphere here, but this is a medium 3 to me. If you're coming here, I'd highly recommend just ordering dessert and coffee / latte / cappuccino, taking it to go, and eating it inside by the fireplace or outside on their patio. I'd be willing to give this place another chance, mainly due to how much I enjoyed the atmosphere /...

We found this place on google maps for breakfast in the area of Ketchum. After reading the reviews and seeing they had crepes, we decided to give it a try. Man!! This place did not disappoint!! Breakfast was amazing!! We ended up having their standard breakfast. Two eggs (any way) toast (for me) and biscuit for him, bacon (for me) sausage for him, I added fruit as a side bowl, and then instead of crepes decided to split an apple strudel with coffee and a macaron to go.

The breakfast itself was plentiful and really enough to split. The serving of bacon and sausage was generous. The sausage and bacon were perfect! The sausage were patties as big as a burger patty and they give you two. The toast and biscuit come with fresh butter and huckleberry jam. The coffee was perfect and much needed! The fruit was impeccable and perfectly ripened (normally fruit bowls are full of so so fruit) the strudel was amazing and not too sweet. Saved the macaron for desert after dinner tonight (never had one) and it was delicious!! Perfect! We would definitely recommend and when in town again will be back. Also, the best service we have had during our stay hands down!

If you are skiing, come for a good hearty breakfast before skiing or leave the slopes early and do an early dinner before they close.

It seems expensive looking at the menu but for what you are getting the prices are worth it! Quality, portions, ambiance...

  • Review for parents with young kids in mind *

Restaurants can be difficult, especially when you have young eaters that like the staples. So hopefully this review helps keep those kids happy!

The kids mac + cheese is a very rich creamy sauce. We call it “fancy Mac + cheese”. We couldn’t quite put our finger on what cheeses were used, but it almost tastes like a blue cheese. Our kids didn’t like it, but they are partial to Kraft.

The pancake is an oat, gluten free, pancake. We were skeptical about the response, but our kids liked it fine!

Waffle was a hit, but how could it not be when it is covered in Nutella, whip cream, strawberries, bananas, and syrup!! Next time we will probably ask for the toppings on the side.

Scrambled eggs, our kids devoured. But they like eggs at home too. They said that the Ham was good. Sausage patty was good. Orange juice was awesome. And the chocolate chip cookie is a must!

As for the adults.

The yogurt and granola with berries is super yummy. It’s a berry Greek yogurt that isn’t very sweet. The granola and berries made it the perfect amount of sweet for us.

Club was very good. We even asked them to warm it up, which they did, and it was so yummy! Essentially made it lightly toasted.

Enjoy your meal!! And enjoy Sun Valley!!

We gave it 4 stars, because we do wish they had a little more mainstream Mac n cheese...

Nice but bland. Very relaxed atmosphere during our visit at 2pm Thu afternoon. Inside, most of the tables were in use, but I don't know why, because the decor is not special, and the lovely patio was empty and it's so much nicer to sit between beautiful petunias at 72 degrees with a light breeze. We did not try any lunch options, had coffee and pastries instead. Those disappointed, though. Despite looking really tempting, the taste was consistently average, cream and butter focused, and not taking advantage of the theme. The tiramisu had a light coffee and liqueur touch but not enough to make it compelling. Key lime Tarte was pretty good, with the lime almost balancing the heavy butter theme. Almond Huckleberry Tarte (flourless) got me to embark on an expedition to find the huckleberry, and I eventually succeeded, but it wasn't enough to provide a pleasant taste beyond the marzipan. Coffees (almond joy and snowball) were creamy, comforty, and nothing else, quite boring. Is this what the typical customer here wants? You can really do better for the steep price.
