Hemingway frequented The Ram, a restaurant in Sun Valley, and took most of his meals there during his first stint in the area. #coffeeandhemingway #coffee #books #travel #history #museum #literature #ernesthemingway #Hemingway #hemingwayspath #hemingwayidaho #idaho #Ketchum #ketchumidaho #sunvalley #hemingwayshaunts #reading #explore #keyless #waloonlake #france #paris #Spain #Cuba #Italy

Made reservations to have dinner at the Ram, and I'm glad we did. This was really the only time we spent at the resort, and the feel of the Ram definitely gave you glimpses into the history of the place. Staff was exceptional and had great information about the menu options. I got the special of the night (pork schnitzel with a cranberry relish, potatoes and an amazing pickled cabbage) while my wife had trout. Both dishes were expertly prepared and really delicious. Moreover, the portions were rather generous. There was a great ambiance with the piano music, views into the kitchen, and just the wonderful charm of the room. Yes, it isn't cheap, but it is worth it to experience the Sun Valley Resort in all its Glory!

We had a really nice evening at The Ram. Great ambience and service. The chef and manager both stopped by our table to chat. We started with the Diver Scallops in a curry, cashew sauce with sliced apples- delish! So tender, wonderful flavor. I had the pork chop with a tasty chutney and hubby had the Filet - both cooked perfectly and so good (see pics). Highly recommend. Will definitely return.

Great Wine Selection.... and that’s it. Went with two friends last night. My fennel citrus salad had no fennel taste, that’s challenging with fennel, and it had two mandarin orange sections and two very small slivers of grapefruit. So much for citrus. The pork schnitzel had no flavor, over cooked and over salted. The potatoes were under cooked and crunchy. One would think the cook would check them before serving. It’s easy to tell when potatoes are under cooked. . All three of us had the schnitzel special, the other two had Caesar salads. My friends agreed that their Caesar salads were among the worse they had ever eaten.

The service was good, wish we’d had something decent to be served. Looking at the other reviews perhaps it was an off night. I won’t be returning for...

Me and my grandfather came here for a nice meal. After only two drinks we were "cut off" I asked the waiter and bartender why, because we were very confused. They said, "you are both super sweet we don't know it came from above". I make the manager give me an explanation. I get told verbatim, "my boss is mormon and he was watching you and for some reason cut you off". I am flabbergasted. This is the first vacation after my grandfather retired and this is the treatment we get after spending $500+ a night on the inn?? Absolutely disrespectful especially since both me and my grandfather are VeteransI am disappointed in this experience. Did we not look the part? I suggest you go somewhere more diverse & inclusive because...
