Freshly made sandwiches using high quality ingredients make The Bend the #1 joint to stop in the Sunapee area. We had The Laker, the pumpkin bisque, and the chicken curry salad. All excellent. What made The Laker so good was the sourdough bread that was browned just right so you taste the strong sourdough flavor without it being dried out or soggy. The pumpkin bisque had a level of spice that paired just right with the pumpkin sweetness without being spicy. They make great coffee as well. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu which is great when you need an assist deciding on what to eat. A nice warm fire inside with chairs to sit on right next to it and even some chairs outside facing the river if you'd like to enjoy a nice view while partaking of whatever awesomeness they made for you. We'll be back as this is now our #1 stop for coffee, breakfast sandwiches and lunch. The fresh salads and meals in the deli counter are original and very...
Read moreI was excited to try this new place, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. The staff came across as unwelcoming, and I later learned (only after purchasing drinks) that alcohol cannot be consumed on the property, even though they sold individual cans. There were no signs posted near the alcohol or at checkout, and the cashier never mentioned this policy, even though it was obvious I was purchasing a drink with my food. Afterward, a staff member approached us inside to tell us we couldnât drink there, which felt frustrating and avoidable with clearer communication up front. We then noticed a sign posted near the exit door where you would only see it after purchasing items.
On top of that, the food wasnât great, the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich somehow had no flavor. Overall, I left feeling let down. Clear signage, friendlier service, and better food quality would make a big...
Read moreJust moved to the area, looking for a new spot for our Saturday coffee dates, when we came across the Bend! The location is amazing right on the river, the atmosphere and barn feeling fits right in! We walked in and the staff was so friendly and let us take our time reading through the menu, (I hate being rushed) we both got coffees, and sat for a minute just admiring. Coffee was very pleasing, super tasty. One of the staff members offered us a little steak and cheese to split and try, after my spouse was literally drooling over it when she walked by, and WOW it was absolutely amazing! I will say we definitely found our new spot! We sat outside for a minute just admiring all the ducks in the pond, perfect for a sunny winter day like today! Have nothing but truly amazing things to say about this place, and fantastic...
